A scrapbooking Swewi

This is the place where I share my creations!

A dream come true!

Posted by swewi on February 5, 2010

If you have followed my blog for a while, you know there are certain manufacturers I especially love. You will also know I have tried from time to time to get on their design teams. Well, yesterday I got an email saying “welcome to our team”. This is the team:

Yes! I am on the Magistical Memories design team! I am so thrilled! If you don’t know about them, they make WONDERFUL chipboard products that are so easy to use, and the designs are unique! It’s not the first time I have applied to be on the DT, so this is certainly a dream come true…

This unfortunately means I have to leave the A2Z Scraplets DT. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there, and have loved working with their products. Thank you Julie for having me on your team, and thank you for being so understanding about me leaving!!! I still have some LO’s to share for them, and will do so when the new releases are up on the blog!

As you know I prefer my posts to have photos in them. :) Therefore, a LO using BG “Sugar Rush” pp’s and embellies, and Prima flowers and alphas. The title says “summer life”.

An exciting week…

Posted by swewi on February 4, 2010

I have had quite an exciting week so far, scrappy wise. Loving it!

First, on Sunday I was featured/interviewed in the online Swedish scrapbooking magazine “Allt om scrap”. Such an amazing honour. I was stoked when they emailed me a while back and asked if they could interview me. So COOL!!!

On Monday, there was a new sketch posted over at Scrappin’ Patch. I made this example:

Products used: Bazill cs, stamped with Prima swirly stamps, ink is Tim Holtz distress ink. Inkido patterned pp, Prima flowers, leaves, pebbles & alphas, Magdas flowers, Carolee’s Creations mini alphas, MME journaling spots, misc pins & twine.

I love those photos, and am very happy about how this LO came out!

On Tuesday, a couple of special releases was introduced on the A2Z Scraplets blog. The DT got a page kit each from an Australian online shop to create with. Check out the blog if you want to see what I did, I won’t share it here out of courtesy for the lovely Scrappin’ Patch ladies!

On Wednesday I had a LATE NIGHT scrapping (thanks to my lovely daughters for sleeping nicely until I was done) finishing up a few projects. Among them the LO that leads us to…

… TODAY – Thursday! A LO that is up on the SWE Scrapbook blog today. We challenge you to use tickets on your LO. “Real” tickets, or tickets made for scrapbooking.

Products used: Bazill cs, painted with Shimmerz paint, Webster’s Pages patterned pp, Prima flowers, leaves, lace, bling & alphas, Tim Holtz tickets, and I have also used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. It was a real struggle getting this LO together. I really LOVE this photo of  Tova, and I felt that nothing I did could compare to the photo. But, in the end I just stuck things done, and I THINK I like the end result…

:)

Aaaaaaand, today I also got a scrappy email that made me dance around a little bit – true story!!! Can’t share with you just yet, but sooooooon!!! It’s a dream come true!!!

So, a very good week for me so far. What about you?

Breathe

Posted by swewi on January 31, 2010

I got a brand new kit to create with from the lovely Patch ladies, and I’d like to share what I did with a Tattered Angels Bingo Card! It’s soooooooo simple, but I think it added a lot to my page.

I scrunched the card up, and then DRENCHED it in Shimmerz. The particular colour I used is sold out, but there are still tonnes to choose from in the shop!

I left the card to dry over night, and then I added a lot of Tim Holtz Distress Ink “Vintage Photo”, which I used on all the paper I used on my LO as well.

Then placing the card behind the photo and all the dekos, I just think it added that “little extra” we all look for…

Other products used:

Rose Moka pp, Webster’s Pages pp, Prima music pp, vine, alphas & pebbles, Tim Holtz tickets, Kaisercraft & 7gypsies stamps, misc chipboard heart painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint & distress ink. Also used Shimmerz on the Prima alphas.

Have you been scrapping this weekend???

Something’s gotta give…

Posted by swewi on January 19, 2010

…and it seems to be my blog. I’m just not updating it as often as I would like to. My life is pretty crazy at the moment, and my blog has to suffer. For now…

BUT – today I’m here, showing off some of my latest creations!

First, a black and white LO that is up on the SWE Scrapbook blog today. I put this LO together in about 15 minutes, and I totally love it…

Then, a LO for A 2 Z Scraplets, using their chipboard stars:

Two LO’s for challenges over at Magistical Memories:

For a sketch challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch I did this LO;  ”Strolling along”. Can you spot the A 2 Z Scraplets bird?

I know, I should tell you about all the products I have used. Honestly, I’m too tired tonight. Please feel free to ask me if you want to know what a certain product is. Most of the stuff I have used can be found at Scrappin’ Patch of course.

Thank you VERY much for visiting my blog. I hope you keep coming by even though my updates are few and far between nowadays…

’til next time!

I’m here

Posted by swewi on January 9, 2010

Haven’t posted for a while, have I? I have been busy though… Been crazy busy actually! Both with family life, and with creating. Sent my first creations for Up2Scrap down to the mag yesterday, and that stuff has taken me a WHILE to finish.

I’d like to share a couple of projects with you though, if I may? Oh – I can? Right… It’s my blog!!!

First a LO with Basic Grey’s new line “Sugar Rush”, for the current sketch challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch:

The alphas are AC, the rest is Basic Grey!

Then, a LO for SWE Scrapbook blog. The challenge is to use chipboard, dimensional magic & journaling spot on the LO:

The title says “to just be”. The papers and embellies are Bella Blvd, hournaling sprout frmo Jillibean Soup, the lovely chipboard house is A 2 Z Scraplets (I painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint) and the alphas are AC. I’ve used the dimensional magic on the owl’s eyes, and in the middle of the flowers!

Then, apart from working my butt off on that Up2Scrap breif, I have also done four LO’s for a kit at Scrappin’ Patch. Take a look here, if you want a taste of that!!!

Also, I’ve been creating behind the scenes for A 2 Z Scraplets, so keep your eyes open to see what I have done for them!

Right, off to bed now! Thanks for stopping by. Hope your 2010 have started just as creative as mine has!!

Aaaaaaand – we’re off!

Posted by swewi on January 1, 2010

Yes!!! I have just finished my first LO in 2010! I can’t share with you just yet, but luckily I have some other stuff to share today!!

First  a LO that I loooove, that nearly made it to the top ten of 2009. It was up on SWE Scrapbook blog yesterday, we challenge you to scrap monochromatically! I chose purple/cerise this time!

The title says “my favourite photo of you”, and I have used papers from Rose Moka & Glitz design. Flower and leaves are Prima, the leaves are sprayed with two different colours of glimmermist. Bling is from Kaisercraft, bookplate from Tim Holtz & alphas are Rose Moka, Basic Grey and AC. The feathers looks more purple in real life by the way…

:)

Then, a couple of projects that I did with papers from my latest Scrappin’ Patch kit. Am still working on a “take out” kit, this was just for some inspiration.

The papers are Jillibean Soup, and first out I’d like to show you a LO:

Did this LO just before 2009 became 2010… Other products than Jillibean Soup are Bazzill cardstock, Prima daisy vine, MM vintage findings word fetti, Kaisercraft stamp, Jillibean Soup ribbon, Prima alpha, Pink Paislee numbers & my Stampin’ Up slit punch.

I also made a little Welcome sign that now sits in our entrance:

close up:

The frame used to be pine coloured, I just painted it with black scrapbooking paint from MM. Other products: Bazzill cardstock, 2Crafty chipboard fence painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint, Magistical Memories Chipboard potty people, Martha Stewart butterfly punch. (The ribbon, alphas and the other patterened papers are from newer ranges of Jillibean Soup, that I got in a kit at the Sketchbook Retreat.)

Right, I’m gonna put my first LO into an album. Have you done your first LO yet??????

10 favourites from 2009

Posted by swewi on December 31, 2009

OK. This was tough… I’ve done around 300 (!!!) LO’s this year, and then add some mini-albums, a few OTP projects and a handfull cards to that. I’ve been busy! And – I more or less love every single project. But that has to be a good thing, right?

(Look here for my faves in 2008.)

OK, here goes, in no particular order (ask me tomorrow and I might choose 10 different LO’s…):

Another year gone

Posted by swewi on December 30, 2009

Yeah, can you believe it…  Where did 2009 go? At this time last year, I was filled with lots of anticipation. A new baby, a new house in a new area, and new challenges to come with my scrapbooking.

It has certainly been an eventful year, both good and bad, but I guess that’s just life happening… There will most likely not be as many changes for our family in 2010, but there will most definately be ups and downs, and lots of different challenges.

In this post I will share the last few projects I have done this year. Tomorrow I plan to post my 10 favourite LO’s from 2009, so come back if you’re interested to see which ones I’ve chosen! And – why don’t you list your faves as well, and let me know about it!!!

Anyway, here’s a LO for the latest sketch challenge over at A 2 Z Scraplets. Be in to win cool chipboard by making your version of the sketch!

A few of my fav brands used here: Bazzill cs, October Afternoon pp & alphas, Prima flowers, Carolee’s Jenni Bowlin date card, and pearlmakers in different colours!

Then a minialbum that I made for Christmas for my mum. Just everyday photos of the girls. She loved it!!

The colour scheme is for today’s colour challenge on the Swe Scrapbook blog

I used an old Basic Grey album as my base, all papers are MME “Life story” collection. The flowers, leaves, bling and pebbles are Prima, and alphas are AC. Pink Paislee, My Yellow Bicycle, MM & Carolee’s Creations, misc pins & ribbon and probably something else that I have missed… Have also used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I made this album in two hours, but am very happy with the result!

So, see you tomrrow?
