Almost August

Posted by swewi on July 27, 2011

I’m sure you are all as surprised as I am – it’s almost August! Wow, time really flies! And then comes September, and my eldest will start SCHOOL! Scary stuff… She’s ready though. Sooo ready. I’m not sure I am though! 🙂

Today I’m sharing my third LO that I did with Molly’s colourful July kit. Said almost 5-year old in the paddle pool last summer!

Oh how I miss summer. I hope it comes early this year…

For Scottie Crafts I have done some stuff with Simple Stories “life documented”. Such a cool range of papers. Have done a LO and a mini-album, here’s the LO of my “busy princess”:

Then a couple of LO’s for challenges over at Studio Calico. Feels good to use up some stuff from their lovely kits!

Lastly, a LO that I did a while back, but have forgotten to share. Another summery Echo Park “splash” LO:

That’s it for me tonight. I’m shattered and need to get some sleep. But just one more thing – have you uploaded your take on the latest Challenge Me Happy challenge? Only a couple of days left ’til deadline!!!

I didn’t realise it has been two weeks since my last blog post! Sure, I have been busier than ever, but that’s not good! 🙂

So, definately time for an update! First some LO’s for Molly’s Scrapbooking. She has been so generous in sending me stuff, so I have been scrapping up a storm with products from the shop!

First, two LO’s from the colourful July kit. The kit is full with vibrant papers and embellies mostly from Echo Park and Fancy Pants.

Got my sewing machine out for this one. Even sewed through the cute chipboard clouds from Maya Road. Love the result!

Love that cut out wave from a Fancy Pants paper, and aren’t those badges sooo cool?

I’ve got another LO done with this kit, but will share that one once it’s been up on the Molly blog!

I was also sent some papers from the Swedish manufacturer Maja Design. The papers have an amazing quality, and it was col getting to play with them being in NZ! This range felt quite boyish to me, so that’s what I tried to do. First, a LO for my SWEDEN 2008 album (will I ever finish it? I don’t know…) The boys were determined to have a BBQ even though the rain was FIERCE!

Then, I went wild with my border punches…

I’ve of course done a LO for challenge #3 over at Challenge Me Happy! Have you checked it out yet? Please come play with us!

I’ve also done some creating for Scottie Carfts, but will show you that another time. Thanks for stopping by today!

I am lucky

Posted by swewi on July 2, 2011

I am reasonably healthy. I am married to a great guy who says he loves me almost every day. I have two gorgeous, independent and smart daughters that loves me unconditionally. I have a family who cares about me and my family, who keeps in touch on a regular basis. I have many great friends, and a few really, really dear friends who I love, and they love me for who I am. I have a job, and they pay me OK. It’s not my dream job, but it’s a good place to be for me at the moment. I have a car that takes me from A to B without too many problems. I have a house to come home to every night, and in that house I am warm, I have a comfy bed, a shower with hot water, and technical stuff that makes my everyday life easy and comfortable. I have food, and I have never NOT fed my children five times a day. I have clothes to keep me warm, and my kids have more than enough of clothes too. I have a hobby that I am passionate about, I have materials and tools to use for it, and I have enough products to be able to send some to others from time to time. I am lucky and I am grateful.

Thanks for reading this. I just needed to say this for reasons I can’t really share here. But in the end the reasons doesn’t matter. I just needed to say it.

Challenge #2 is up on Challenge Me Happy, and the designers have done a fantabulous job again! This time we have a colour challenge. I would be so happy if YOU would participate! This time the winner gets a Tim Holtz die kindly sponsored by Scottie Crafts! This is my take on the challenge:

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to everyone who takes time to leave a comment. I’m really bad at that myself! Have a lovely weekend!
