The race is on…

Posted by swewi on March 30, 2009

…at SBO. It’s day four today, and there’s a challenge posted every day. I’ve managed to do a LO for each challenge, ’cause I’d really like to win that raffle… 🙂

Day 2 – “you like to spin” – for my Sweden album. A quick, simple page!

Have stamped that red border on the bottom of the page.

Day 3 – “Blueberries”. Also a quick simple page for the Sweden album!

And then day 4 – all Pink Paislee pp.  I think it’s the first time I’ve used this colour combo. I like it!!!

I now need to finish some projects for Scrappin’ Patch. Check out the forum and blog for Easter inspiration this and next week, and then – NEW CHALLENGES are starting on Friday. I’m first up… 🙂 So. Back to the scrapping desk it is…

Busy Friday!

Posted by swewi on March 28, 2009

Considering I had a very busy day with the girls and my DH, I have been very creative! Sometimes I don’t know how I do it myself!!

I started the day with making some cards. Can’t show them here, as the recipients might check in here before they receive them.

While I still had both hands free, I posted the Friday night challenge over at the Sketchbook. A little bit different this week… Check it out here. This is my example LO:

Cool, huh… 🙂 Have used nothing but white CS, ProMarker pens and some chipboard alphas!

I then decided to do a LO for Scrap the boys. Boys??? Yep. I did a LO about my fantastic Godson, for my Sweden album! His name is Adrian, he’s 12 in May, and he’s the most amazing boy! Love him! The criteria for the Scrap the boys March challenge, was to use the words “you are/U R” in the title (I have – but in Swedish) and to journal at least 50 words. I think I have 50 on the nose actually… Here’tis:

Have used My Mind’s Eye pp’s, Jenni Bowlin alphas and journaling thingie, Carolee’s creations mini alphas, and Kaisercraft pearls. Quite like how this came out!

Then, with both kiddies finally asleep, and the DH fed an put in front of the telly, I checked out what was going on at SBO. Remember how I talked about that in my last post? Well. Something exciting it is… They are doing the Amazing Race (my faaaaaaavourite TV show) “scrapbooking style”! I don’t know if I’ll be able to do all the challenges (especially since me and DH are having a hotel night tomorrow!!), but I will certainly try. There’s awesome prices up for grabs. Check the happenings and rules out here.

My LO for the first challenge is this one:

Tova eating sweet stuff for the first time, on her 2nd birthday (!!!). Again I have used Jenni Bowlin and MME pp. Have also used a Sassafras Lass chipoard sqirrel, and the alphas are Pink Paislee & Scenic Route.

OK. Now it’s midnight so I better GO TO BED!!!!! Night night!

I should really be…

Posted by swewi on March 25, 2009

…in bed. I’m soooo tired… But, after having two LO’s accepted to two different magazines this year, I want mooooore! 😉 So I’m fiddling with LO’s that I might submit. It all depends on the end result of course. Not really FEELING IT at the moment, but hey. One must try!!

Got some other LO’s to share with you!

The first one is for this fortnight’s word challenge over at the Sketchbook. The word is CHANGE. This LO is also a class LO for Scrapbooker’s Delight. I’ve used BG’s Marrakesh, and the journaling is about how Tova and I laid on the couch, talking about what was about to happen, a few days before Elsa came to us.

Did you know that Scrapbooker’s Delight is looking for designers? Go to their blog to learn more!!

The next LO is for the last Friday night challenge, also on the Sketchbook. The criteria was to use paper from one manufacturer (I used My Mind’s Eye), two words in the title, and three photos. Loved the challenge, and love how my LO came out!

Another class LO for Scrapbooker’s Delight next, with BG’s Porcelain range. The title (with BG’s Bittersweet chipboard alphas) says “cutie”.

Last, a LO that celebrates the fact that the first pancake was made today (some years ago) ! 🙂 The new DT over at Crafty Tart set a challenge to do a round LO in honour of this, and since I’m LOVING to do non-square LO’s at the moment, I just had to play along!

OK. So. You all know by now that I am crazy about challenges and competitions. 🙂 I haven’t spent much time over at the Scrapbook Outlet forum, simply because there’s not enough hours in the day!! I might check in on Friday though. There’s talk about challenges, nice prizes, and – chocolate creme eggs!!! Can’t miss that… Just remember – PLEASE to also check out the Friday night challenge over at the Sketchbook on Friday. I’ve got something very special planned for that one…

’til then!

Catch up

Posted by swewi on March 19, 2009

I’ve neglected my Sweden album lately, so I thought it was time to do a couple of LO’s. The baby on the LO above is my best friends daughter. Isn’t she gooooooorgeous?? I just love the face she makes on that photo!

The next LO is about dancing, I’m sure you got that… It’s also an example for this fortnights sketch challenge over at the Sketchbook, by the amazing Rachel. (sorry, the link thing isn’t working, see sidebar for links!)

This next LO is for the same sketch. I’m not particularly happy with how the LO came out, but the photo and the journaling is the main thing on this LO, so I’ll share it anyway!

Sigh. I’ve been writing this post for hours! Oh. Is that what being a SAHM is??  Better organise lunch for Tova… See you soon!!!

Lift of a lift

Posted by swewi on March 10, 2009

So have you ever scraplifted a scraplift? I have… This LO is for this fortnights word challenge over at the Sketchbook, and it’s a lift of the lift I did the other day titled “miracle”. You can see it a couple of posts down.

And then I did this LO. Another simple one that I quite like.

And then there’s some other stuff that I can’t share yet…

But check out the Scrappin’ Patch forum  or blog  for my Tuesday technique!

Oh – and then I’d like to toooot a little bit… I decided to submit two pages last week, and both got accepted. I’ve only tried once before, and that one was published, so I’m a little bit exited to be accepted again. Will be a loooooong time before I can share those pages, but I just wanted to share!!

See ya soon!!

On Friday I posted a new sketch challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch. This is the LO I did as an example. I have used Kaisercraft paper!

The title says “cutie”.

Weird photo?

Posted by swewi on March 4, 2009

You might think so… But it all makes sense to the girls at Hildas Rum!

And then a couple of LO’s! The first one “Simon says” is for this fortnight’s sketch over at the Sketchbook. A great, simple sketch!

The next LO “Miracle” is a lift. The original is by Aida Haron who is on Cocoa Daisy’s DT.

That’s all for today. I’ll be back (said in perfect Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) in a couple of days with more!

Oh how time flies…

Posted by swewi on March 1, 2009

Can you believe it?  Two months of 2009 is already gone! My new baby girl is 8 weeks tomorrow, just crazy!!!

With a new month comes a new challenge over at Scrap the Girls. This month there’s a VERY inspiring sketch, and awesome prizes as usual. They are also doing a swap at the moment. Check it out!!

Anyway, here’s my take on that great sketch:

I’ve also been busy with a class LO for Scrapbookers’ Delight. Got to work with BG’s Wassail papers. I’m terrible with Christmas LO’s, but really liked how this one came out!

(I wish it was sunny everyday so that I could take my pics of my LO’s OUTSIDE!!)

What else… Hmmm… Oh. Got myself some colourful papers from 3 Bugs in a Rug, and this is what happened:

Quite funky, huh?

I’ll be back later in the week with more, and with the winners of my clean out boxes. See ya!
