Bye 2012 – Welcome 2013
Posted by swewi on January 8, 2013
I have had a break from online life for a while, mostly because my family from Sweden came for a visit. It was the BEST Christmas ever, this is something my girls, me and my DH all agree on! A great way to end 2012, a year that was very tumultuous for me personally, in many, many ways. But on the scrappy side, I had a great year! I didn’t scrap as much as I have done in the past, but I had great success and I loved almost everything I did.
2012 was my first year with Project Life. I haven’t shared almost any of it here on my blog, for no particular reason, I just didn’t get around to it. I haven’t finished the year, but I am not at all stressed about it. I have photos, a lot of journaling written down, and it will be done. I LOVE the PL concept, and have decided to do it again this year.
2012 was a great year for my challenge blog Challenge Me Happy. We kept busy with fortnightly challenges, had wonderful sponsors both for the DT and the prizes, celebrated BIG for our one year anniversary with an abundance of challenges, and we welcomed new fabulous designers to our team. Can’t wait to see what 2013 brings for Challenge Me Happy!
During 2011 & half of 2012 I was on the DT for the very cool Swedish shop Mollys Scrapbooking, owned by Lilo. The products she sent to me was always so inspiring, and Lilo and I became great friends, even though we’ve never met IRL!
In January 2012, I joined the 2Crafty Chipboard team, the D-Lish scraps team & got back to design for Scrappin’ Patch. Amazing products and DT colleagues in all three teams, and I had a blast! Am so thankful for the opportunities I had last year!
In February I was the featured CARD designer for My Scrapbook Nook. Seeing as I am NOT a cardmaker, this was a huge honour and a big buzz. The Nook is no longer active, and I still miss that messageboard loads. Do I still make cards? Not really. I just don’t “have it”. 🙂
In April I went back to the Autumn Escape in Taupo, and had a FANTABULOUS time with old and new friends. I finally got to meet my idol and friend Piradee IRL, and basically had the best weekend in a long time.
In June I had the honour of guest designing for Stuck?! Sketches. Loved the opportunity, and the sketches I got to work with! I slao started as a designer for the paper manufacturer Kite Tails Designs. In the end the company didn’t do very well, but I feel blessed to have been part of their journey.
In August my biggest scrappy achievement EVER happened – I started Crazy Monday Kits – my own monthly kit club! The intrest was HUGE when I started, and it blew me away. I am still doing REALLY well, and I am having so much fun with it! I am very grateful for all the support and positive feedback from everyone, and I hope 2013 will continue to be successful for Crazy Monday Kits!
So since starting CMK, I haven’t had time for any other DT’s, and that’s fine. I’ve been ticking along with Scrappin’ Patch ( I don’t see how I could live without it! ) and CMH & CMK have certainly kept me busy. Working full time and being a mum & a wife also takes time away from the creative corner, as you ALL know. But all in all, I’m happy with my scrappy 2012, and I’m excited to see what 2013 has in store!
Tell me your favourite in the comments, and I will send a RAK to one lucky commenter. Thank you and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
