September!

Posted by swewi on September 1, 2009

Yep. That’s right. It’s September! This means there’s a new challenge up at Scrap the girls. But you won’t see a LO from me. I decided to resign for various reasons. But I still think you should go there and check September’s challenge out!!!

If that’s not your cup of tea, how about checking out the “Spring it on comp” that we started today over at the Sketchbook!  Beverley have set the challenge, and this is my example:

Scrap 416

I have used BG Junebug & Lemonade pp’s and brads, Bazzill cs, Prima flowers, Amy Butler butterfly, AC & MM mini alphas & a misc ribbon. The title says “discovering in the grass” sort of… 🙂

There’s also a brand spanking new recipe challenge over at the Scrappin’ Patch. This is my example:

Scrap 405

Products used: PP’s from October Afternoon, BG & American Craft, Prima flower and bling, BG button, AC thickers & misc chipboard.

Well, it’s all Elsa today it seems, have one more LO with her to show! I bought a LOVELY kit from Neen/it’s the little things. The LO came out a little bit different from what I usually do, but I looooooove it. The title says “My Precious”.

Scrap 418

That’s it for today. Go check out those challenges now!! Please… 😉

New look + new challenge over at Scrap the girls!

Posted by swewi on August 1, 2009

It’s a new month = new challenge over at Scrap the girls. The new lovely boss Kayla has done a little faclift on the blog, look at this gorgeous thing:

ScrapTheGirlsAdvertisingBanner

Go visit the blog to see more… 🙂 This is my LO for the August challenge anyway:

August challenge - Annelie

I’ve used Bazzill cardstock, October Afternoon pp’s, journaling spot and “words”. Rub-ons from Hambly & Basic Grey, alphas from BG & Pink Paislee. Don’t know what brand that puffy heart is…

Next, some more LO’s I’ve done for Scrappin’ Patch. First, a LO for my Sweden album. (Yes, I am still working on that one – one year later…) It’s my gorgeous sister in the photo, and the title says “aunty, sister, friend”. Apart from the Prima papers, I’ve used MM ribbon, Love you more brads, Bazzill swiss dotted cs, Pink Paislee alphas & a black journaling pen.

DSC01388-1

While in Swedish mode, I created a simple Christmas page with the title “Christmas presents”. With a Bazzill Kraft cs as a base, I used scraps from the Prima papers together with twine to make the banner, and added lots of buttons. Pink Paislee alphas for the title again, and also some Carolee’s Creations mini alphas.

DSC01389-1

And – believe it or not – there’s more to come from this kit!!

I’d like to finish the post with the project I did for the new Designers choice challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch. The challenge is to make a doorhanger – that’s it! This is mine:

DSC01409-1

Once again, I’ve used October afternoon paper and embellies. I also added some tulle, a charm, AC thickers, alpha stamps from Inkadinkado, and I putsome dimensional magic to that bee. Oh, and some pearlmaker too in the right corner… 🙂

Thanks for stopping by – I’ll be back soon with more!!!

Half the year is gone…

Posted by swewi on July 1, 2009

…and a lot has happened in my life so far in 2009!!! New baby, new house – and everything that goes with that, new challenges in my scrapbooking world, lots! It has certainly been ups and downs in both departments, but that’s how it’s supposed to be, isn’t it?

🙂

So let’s celebrate that 6 months of 2009 is gone. OK? Leave a comment in this post – tell me the best thing that has happened to you so far in 2009. I will draw a name and send something scrappy. Let other people know by posting this on your blog, and your name will be put in twice (the value of the prize will be around 20NZD).

Right, moving on… There’s a new lift up at Liftvarning, and this week you can win a RAK by entering. Here’s my lift:

Scrap 370

Title – meatballs. 🙂 Products: Bazzill cs, patterned pp from Cosmo Cricket and BG, MM flower ribbon, Kaisercraft flowers, AC thickers & Jillibean soup journaling spot.

A LO I did for a challenge over at Magistical Memories

Scrap 371

Products: patterned pp from Cosmo Cricket and 3Bugs in a rug, chipboard from Cosmo Cricket and Magistical Memories, pom pom ribbon from Bazzill, BG buttons, dymo for journaling. Don’t know where the alphas are from, have had them forever!

For another challenge over at Magistical Memories I did a keyring:

keyring

My latest challenge over at the Sketchbook  is a colour challenge – blue/green/red. My example “hi there nana” here:

Scrap 369

Products used: Bazzill cs as base, and the leaves are cut out from an ebossed cs from Bazzill. Patterned pp from my scraps, butterfly from May Butler, Kaisercraft rhinestones, BG & AC alphas, and flowers from Prima.

I also posted a challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch. The challenge is to use at least 4 layers and do 50+ words journaling. My example is my LO “unique” that is posted in the Cosmo Cricket post below!!

🙂

Speaking of which – THANK YOU everyone for your wonderful words of support. I goes straight to my heart. You are all amazing for taking time out of your busy lives to leave words of encouragement to me. THANKS!!!

JUNE!!

Posted by swewi on June 3, 2009

In Sweden, June means summer. In New Zealand, June means winter. As I lived in Sweden for 30 years before moving here, I’m still finding it hard to put June and winter together. So I’m not handling the chill very well. Thankfully the last few days have been very sunny, so I get a sort of summery feel in the midst of winter, but I’m still confused…

Sometimes it helps scrapping summery photos to get the summery feel back!!

🙂

I did just that when scrapping the latest challenge over at Scrap the girls. Man o man this months challenge was a CHALLENGE!!! But you really have to get over there and participate, it’s awsome prizes up for grans as usual!! So, here is my eample… The story of the swing:

June challenge Annelie

Products used: Bazill kraft cs, scrap pp for tree and sun, the sun has been sprayed with “Lemon Zest” glimmermist, BG Lime Rickey pp for flowers and leaves, Fancy Pants die cut birds, and Amy Butler die cut butterfly, misc green ric rac ribbon & buttons, Carolee’s Creations and Scenic Route alphas. Have used dimensional magic on the flowers and the little “fly marks” for the butterfly.

Another summery LO for a challenge on a Swedish site here: “The worlds best Catti”.

Scrap 348

Products used: Bazill white cs, Deja Views die cut pp, Prima pearl swirl, flowers and leaves, My little shoebox & Heidi Swapp alphas, Heidi Grace drops & black journaling pen.

And another LO with my two gorgeous girls with the title “totally impossible”. The LO is about how the doctors told me that it was totally impossible for me to ever get pregnant. Right…

Scrap 347

Products used: Jenni Bowlin pp, misc music pp, Prima bling swirl & leaves cut out of a floked transparancy, flower from Spotlight sprayed with “Starfish” glimmermist, Kaisercraft rhinestones, 7Gypsies paperclip, misc ribbon and journaling tag, alphas from Carolee’s Creations & MM & black journaling pen.

Scrap 347 journaling

Right. Better feed Elsa before it’s time to pick Tova up from pre-school. Thanks for stopping by!!

APRIL!!

Posted by swewi on April 1, 2009

I’m not even gonna act surprised. I am aware now that the time FLIES by!! I went to weigh and measure my bubba today, and that clearly tells me she is not a newborn anymore. Jeepers… April!!!

So. A new month means a new challenge over at Scrap the Girls! As always a great challenge and amazing prizes. Won’t spill the beans about the challenge here, go to the blog to find out!!! But – here’s my example for this month:

a_001

Recognize the photo?? Yep. Scrapped a page for Elsa with the same photo a couple of weeks ago. So it has begun – the task of scrapping the same photo twice. Quite a challenge, but it’ll be worth it of course!!

Then, my LO for yesterdays challenge over at SBO. Our travels have now taken us to Scandinavia (yay!!!) and we were to do a wintery LO. Here’s mine: (yes I like the die cut papers!!!)

a-016

Today a new sketch is up a the Sketchbook. This is my (very simple) version of the sketch:

a-0121

OK. WordPress playing with the size of my photos. Time to stop blogging, and start scrapping!!

Will be back tomorrow… Cyber hugs to all my readers!!!

Oh how time flies…

Posted by swewi on March 1, 2009

Can you believe it?  Two months of 2009 is already gone! My new baby girl is 8 weeks tomorrow, just crazy!!!

🙂

With a new month comes a new challenge over at Scrap the Girls. This month there’s a VERY inspiring sketch, and awesome prizes as usual. They are also doing a swap at the moment. Check it out!!

Anyway, here’s my take on that great sketch:

march-challenge-annelie

I’ve also been busy with a class LO for Scrapbookers’ Delight. Got to work with BG’s Wassail papers. I’m terrible with Christmas LO’s, but really liked how this one came out!

a-013

(I wish it was sunny everyday so that I could take my pics of my LO’s OUTSIDE!!)

What else… Hmmm… Oh. Got myself some colourful papers from 3 Bugs in a Rug, and this is what happened:

a-002

Quite funky, huh?

I’ll be back later in the week with more, and with the winners of my clean out boxes. See ya!

First day of the year is here…

Posted by swewi on January 1, 2009

…and with that the first challenge of the year over at Scrap the Girls!!! It’s a yummy photo to be inspired by this time, and some FANTASTIC prizes to be won. Go check it out, and be inspired by the other CT members’ amazing creations. This is mine – a birthday LO don’t you know!!!

jan-challenge-annelie

During the last days of  last year 🙂 I managed to get a couple of simple pages for my Sweden album done. This time I’ve snowed in on the colour combo brown/green/beige. I’m in loooooooooove with the fabulous mini alpha stickers from Carolee’s Creations, that you can find @ Scrappin’ Patch. As you can see, I used them on the LO above as well…

The first LO below says “hug”. Tova hugged my dad so many times every day when we were over there, so cute! This is the ONLY photo I have of it happening though, and I’m glad I caught it on camera! The other LO says “everybody’s on the swing”. A day on the playground with my sisters, and Tova’s cousins. Even Tova – who hates the swings – got on, and was happy about it! A great day!

scrap-248

scrap-249

I’m so glad I decided to do this album in 8.5 x 11″. It makes me do the pages simpler, and since I have so many photos from the trip I wanna scrap – I save time!! I seem to use more scraps as well, and that HAS to be a good thing!!

Right. Four more sleeps ’til baby day, let’s see if I get some scrapping done before then… I’ve developed all photos I want to scrap up until today so I’m set when it comes to that. The HOT HOT sun and the fact that my mind is occupied with what’s going on isn’t helping, but maybe… Maybe there will be some stuff done!

Scrap the girls and more!

Posted by swewi on December 1, 2008

It’s the first of December, and the first challenge is up @ Scrap the girls! It’s a sketch challenge this time. We also want you to use something pink, and flowers on you LO. Shouldn’t be too hard, right?

This is my take on the sketch, make sure you pop over to the blog and check the other team members LO’s. Some amazing inspiration, AND PRIZES over there!!

dec-challenge-annelie

I can also show you my entries for the final over at Pyssel Passion. There where two challenges. The first one was to do a LO “chabby chic style”, and the theme was love. You had to use two photos on your LO. My LO is about the love for my daughter…

finalanneliemaddock-chabby-chic

Since I’ve used a Magistical Memories fancy frame” on the LO, I also submitted it as my last entry to their DT search round 2. I inked it with brilliance ink, then used my clear crackle paint, and some glimmer mist on top of that, and last a few pearls. Detail shots:

finalanneliemaddock-chabby-chic2

finalanneliemaddock-chabby-chic3

The second challenge was more tricky… The LO had to be in “freestyle”, and you also had to choose a particular color scheme; for example analogue, triadic, triangular or my choice – square. I ended up with primary colours; blue, red, yellow and green. You also had to use something older than 20 year on your LO – object on photo didn’t count! Yikes… As most of you know, I haven’t been in this country for more than 5 years, and don’t have a lot of older stuff where I am now. So I had to slaughter an old kids book of mine… 🙂 The things we do for our hobby, aye… I simply cut out “Pippi Longstocking” and her horse and put on my LO. This LO says “The worlds prettiest Pippi” and is about when my beautiful goddaughter Lea dresses up as Pippi. I choose the size 8.5×11″ as this will go into my Sweden album!

Detail shots:

The winner in this competition will be announced on Wednesday (or probably Thursday NZ time). I’m not EXPECTING to win, but obviously HOPING!!! Cross your fingers for me please!!! 😉

OK, one last thing. I’ve decided to resign from the Scrap with V DT. A hard decision, but I think it’s the right one. My last kits for them will be up in the shop today or tomorrow.

See ya!
