Saying farewell

Posted by swewi on August 23, 2010

I have loved being on the SWE Scrapbook DT, but I have decided to leave the team. I am still positive about getting a full-time job fairly soon, and when that happens, I just can’t commit to do all the scrapping I have been able to do before.  I honestly LOVE each and every team I am on, and it’s so sad to have to take a step back. I will still follow the amazing designers & challenges over there, I hope you will too!

OK, time to share. The latest Allt Om Scrap ezine is out, and it’s a beauty as always! I created a LO for the colour theme “yellow and green”. To be quite honest, I’m not at all happy with how the LO came out. BUT I am happy I scrapped this photo  have wanted to scrap it for a while. It’s me and the very lovely ladies Trace & Vicki in the photo, taken at the Scrappin’ Patch retreat last March.

Titel says “friends”, and the journaling says “I haven’t known Trace and Vicki for very long, and might not know them all that well, but I DO KNOW that if there was anything I needed – they would be there for me, and I for them.”

Products used: Bazzill cs, Jillibean Soup pp’s and embellies, Martha Stewart butterfly punches, AC thickers & ribbon, Prima bling.

I was so happy that Scrappin’ Patch got some Jillibean stuff in! I have nagged them about it, and am pretty sure they brought it in just for me…

Speaking of Scrappin’ Patch; I set a new challenge over there last week called “What’s on your table?” Use five things that are on your scrapping table, the only thing you can add is photo, cardstock and alphas. The example I did for the challenge:

Products used: Bazill kraft cs, Echo Park papers & stickers, misc flower, Webster’s ribbon, MM alphas.

There we go – two LO’s about friends, not a child in sight… 😉 ’til next time!

Changes are afoot… and a RAK!

Posted by swewi on July 19, 2010

My life is changing. I’ve started looking for a full time job, and went on my first interview today. After being home for about 4 years (with a few months break, working in the Scrapbooker’s Delight shop in Auckland) I am going to be seeing my girls WAY LESS in the future. That is if someone hires me of course, but the chances seems pretty good.

This probably means a little less time for my crafty projects as well, but we’ll see. Who needs sleep, I mean really?

🙂

So, to celebrate these changes (because change is good, right?) I have come up with another RAK. Of course I am un-organised, and I don’t have a pic of the goodies that I’m going to send somewhere in the world… But it’s going to be some stuff from some of my fav MF’s at the moment, so pretty good I think!

To win this RAK, I’d like you to tell me yours or your family’s favourite every day meal. I don’t need you to write down recipes (unless you want to), I just need some inspiration to try some different stuff for my family. And I will possibly have to start cooking my hours away in the weekend, to fill the freezer . Because if I am lucky enough to get a full time job, dinner MUST be easy to sort!

Please leave a comment IN THIS POST before midnight 31st July to be in to win. I will send worldwide!

OK, enough rambling from me, how about some LO’s?

First, the latest sketch from Creative Scrappers:

Products used: Kaisercraft papers & embellies, BG buttons, Cosmo Cricket & Webster’s alphas.

Then, for Julie’s sketch over @ Scrappin’ Patch:

Products used: BoBunny papers & embellies, BG buttons, Webster’s & Prima alphas, and a little bit of sewing too!

A LO for the theme “pain” over @ SWE Scrapbook blog:

Again, I’ve used BoBunny papers & embellies, Prima bling, AC thickers, Rose Moka mini alphas, & a gorgeous butterfly from Magistical Memories that I have painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint & I also put some distress ink on too.

OK, get your dinner tips in, and I’ll see you soon again!

Speaking of  Scrappin’ Patch ; go over here and check out how I did a 5 page LO about Elsa’s first birthday using cardstock, Echo Park papers & stickers, & refill pockets from We R Memorykeepers!!

And – while you’re there – sign up for our latest NINE WEEK competition! We are testing different styles of scrapping, inspired by some STAR scrappers. Every star will judge their week, and in the end, the total winner will win a Cricut! How frekkin’ cool is that! There will also be weekly prizes and spot prizes throughout the competition – too fun to miss!!! The first star is already revealed, but you still have time to join in if you haven’t already!

Next, a LO for the SWE Scrapbook blog. Today we challenge you to use round photos, buttons & metal on your LO:

Products used: Jillibean Soup papers, border stickers, alphas & journaling sprout, baker’s twine, Martha Stewart border punch, misc buttons & brads.

And lastly – please go over to the A Million Little Things blog… I’m very honoured to say I’ve got a LO featured there, but there are also loads of inspiration and tips on the blog!

Before we had kids…

Posted by swewi on July 1, 2010

…we travelled some, me and hubby. We love an adventure, but having a family makes it harder to travel. But – having kids sure is an adventure, isn’t it?

This LO is for today’s challenge over at SWE Scrapbook blog – more bright colours!

I LOVE bright colours

Posted by swewi on June 29, 2010

If you hadn’t noticed, I’m really into bright colours at the moment… This LO which is for this week’s sketch over at SWE Scrapbook blog for example, has loooooooovely colours, don’t you think?

Products used: Bazzill cs, Crate Paper pp’s & stickers, Prima flower & alphas, Green Tara mesh, Carolee’s Creations mini alphas. I really love the summery feel those colours give me, and the Crate Paper pp’s have such a lovely texture to them. LOVE IT!!!

On Thursday, I have another LO on the SWE Scrapbook blog , with very bright colours on as well… 🙂

Then – more bright colours with the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely collection, a LO I did for Scrappin’ Patch:

Apart from the Cosmo Cricket I have used a Bazzill cs, BG alphas & button, Prima flowers, Jillibean Soup journaling sprout, Prima flowers & baker’s twine. I kinda like Cosmo Cricket, but you knew that already… 😉

OK, that’s it for today. Check back in a few days for more stuff. Thanks for stopping by friends!!!

Scrapbooking just for me

Posted by swewi on June 25, 2010

It doesn’t happen often – being on six design teams – that I have time to scrap just for me. But the last couple of days I have done just that. I needed to re-focus, and this is the result:

Products used: Bazzill kraft cs, Crate Paper pp’s and embellies, Webster’s ribbon & alphas, BG buttons.

Products used: Bazzil cs, Crate Paper pp’s, Martha Stewart punches, BG alphas, misc ribbon.

Products used: Bazzill cs, Crate Paper pp’s, Kaiercraft rubons, Prima alphas, pearl centres & flowers – sprayed with glimmermist, Martha Stewart bumble bee punch, Carolee’s Creations mini alphas, peralmaker & a MM tag.

Then a LO that I did for SWE Scrapbook blog. The challenge is to USE A TOY on your LO. I covered these in crackle paint and used them as stamps:

This is the end result:

Products used: Bazzill cs, Pink Paislee pp’s & embellies, Tim Holtz crackle paint, Magistical Memories chipboard, Cosmo Cricket mini alphas, MM alphas.

Now, I need to get back to the “list”. It’s a long one – but I welcome it. I LOVE each and every one of my DT’s and feel lucky to have as much to do as I have.

What are you working on?

From one thing to another

Posted by swewi on June 22, 2010

I’ve been struggling with a stubborn flu for the last few weeks, and now when it’s only a little bit of cough left of it, the next thing comes. I have had stomach cramps today, and I have no idea what it is. No, I’m not pregnant, and I have not eating anything funny. Fingers crossed it’s all gone tomorrow…

So, just sharing some LO’s today.

The first LO is for SWE Scrapbook blog, and the colour combo that is up today:

Products used: Papers from GCD, Prima lace, flowers & alphas, Jenni Bowlin journaling spot & Maya Road pins.

Then, a LO I did for the current sketch challenge over at MME. A very young Annelie on that photo!!!

Products used: MME papers, alphas & embellies, Prima flower, Collage Press numbers, Tim Holtz measuring ribbon, Heidi Swapp circles.

Last, my LO that was featured in the latest Allt om Scrap ezine. Another LO for my BoM. The title says “my dreams became my reality”, and the journaling is about that I now live the dream I didn’t really think would come true while I was sick with cancer. But I am living proof that dreams comes TRUE!

Products used: Websters Pages papers, alphas, lace & bloomers, Jenni Bowlin pins, pearlmaker & misc feathers. The photo of me is taken by the lovely Trace…

OK, that’s it for today. See you again soon!

Lots to share

Posted by swewi on June 14, 2010

First of all – a new Allt om Scrap ezine came out yesterday, and I have two LO’s in it. Go over there and have a look, there’s some amazing talent over there!

I’m only gonna share one of the two LO’s, since the other one is going to be a gift. I don’t think that person checks out my blog, but you never know…

This LO is about how Elsa LOVES playing with the stones in our garden. She “counts them” over and over again. Hence the title “millions of stones”:

Products used: BG basics that have been sprayed with pink chalkboard mist, October Afternoon pp, sprayed with “regular” glimmermist, BG basics border sticker, corrugated cardboard, Prima pebbles, baker’s twine from Etsy, misc tag, AC thickers, misc leftover numbers & the journaling is done on an old rusty typewriter.

Then, a LO featuring my husband, he’s a very passionate musician. It’s for a “boyzone” challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch – go check it out!

I just LOVE the new starlight papers from Pink Paislee! And I think they go well with BG basics too, don’t you? Add some Webster’s buttons, a glimmermisted Magistical Memories chipboard star that also have been wildly attacked with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint, a Martha Stewart star punch, BG basics journaling spots and Pink Paislee alphas to the mix, and you have a very masculine LO. Not a flower in sight!

I also played with the crackle paint on the paper, and it came out pretty cool. The background paper was sprayed with glimmermist chalkboard, hard to see, but very sparkly IRL!

And look – my hubby is in the next LO too, together with Elsa. The title says “sweet summer”. Man, I miss it…

This LO is up on the Swe Scrapbook blog today, it’s for a sketch.

Products used: GCD blue paper, LilyBee patterned pp & chipboard, Prima flower, AC thickers & alphas, misc doilie. Have also played with my black Pearlmaker. Don’t you just loooooooove the bright colours in this LO?

OK, that’ll be enough for tonight’s post! I’m off to bed for an early night for a change. I decided I had had enough of being a couch potato, and went for a 75 min power walk today,  so I feel a bit tired!

🙂

Thanks for stopping by, see ya!

Cough cough

Posted by swewi on June 6, 2010

Just a quick post, I’m REALLY sick with the flu. Hate it. The rain and strong wind outside doesn’t make it any better either…

Anyway – check out my presentation over at Creative Scrappers here! Make sure you check in every day to read about all the new DT’s! A new sketch will be up soon to, with half of the new DT giving you LOADS of inspiration!

When you’re done checking that out, browse over to SWE Scrapbook blog. We have interviewed our kids about the feeling “happy”, and the made a LO around that. This is my example:

Products used: 3ndy Papir patterned paper & journaling circles, Fancy Pants pom pom ribbon, Magistical Memories potty person covered with Distress stickles, October Afternoon & AC alphas, and a few misc bits and bobs. It was so much fun interviewing Tova, she’s really good at expressing her thoughts and feelings. I will definately do that again!

OK, really want to crawl back to bed, but have to go to a birthday party with Tova today. Sigh…
