More retreat shares

Posted by swewi on April 13, 2013

So I’ve got another couple of LO’s to share that I cooked last weekend. 🙂 First another LO with the Crate Paper DYI line. I really love that line! A photo of me and Michelle from maybe 18 months ago? Michelle has grown to be a very close friend since 2-3 years back, and there are n0t many aspects of our lives that we don’t ‘share with each other. We jokingly say we talk to each other more that we talk to our husbands… and to be honest it’s probably true! So here’s a LO to celebrate our friendship and the fact that we are “like peas and carrots”.

And close ups:

Then a LO of my friends little boy who has a special place in my heart. I’ve gone back to the Crazy Monday January 2013 kit on this one, great for boy LO’s I think!

I’ve added some masking, Glitz Design washi tape & bling, some MME enamel dots (looooove) & buttons, AC thickers, misc tags & a Maggie Holmes peg. Mini alphas & the word “awesome” is from the Fancy Pants sticker sheet in the Crazy Monday October 2012 kit!

That’s it for today. I’ll have more next week, as I have a LO for the next Challenge Me Happy challenge, going up on Monday!

My latest giveaway is now CLOSED! I had 23 people interested – thank you ladies! The result of my draw will be at the end of this post, because I want you all to see my creativity first! Ha!

I’ve done quite a lot lately. Especially considering the fact that crafting actually makes me really sore, and I should probably not do much… But it’s MY way of relaxing, and I know I’m preaching to the choir here…

So, I did some creating for the National Scrapbooking Day crop over at the Nook. 11 creations in total, but I won’t show them all at once. 🙂 Here’s the one I was most happy with,  using Echo Park papers & a whole lot of random embellies, including a jean pocket:

Another one for the crop, also using Echo Park:

This one is mostly stamping & misting, but the re’s also some lovely washi tape from D-Lish scraps on there!

Then, a LO using Pink Paislee Prairie Hill, for Scrappin’ Patch:

And Pink Paislee for Scrappin’ Patch again, this time Indigo Bleu:

I am lucky

Posted by swewi on July 2, 2011

I am reasonably healthy. I am married to a great guy who says he loves me almost every day. I have two gorgeous, independent and smart daughters that loves me unconditionally. I have a family who cares about me and my family, who keeps in touch on a regular basis. I have many great friends, and a few really, really dear friends who I love, and they love me for who I am. I have a job, and they pay me OK. It’s not my dream job, but it’s a good place to be for me at the moment. I have a car that takes me from A to B without too many problems. I have a house to come home to every night, and in that house I am warm, I have a comfy bed, a shower with hot water, and technical stuff that makes my everyday life easy and comfortable. I have food, and I have never NOT fed my children five times a day. I have clothes to keep me warm, and my kids have more than enough of clothes too. I have a hobby that I am passionate about, I have materials and tools to use for it, and I have enough products to be able to send some to others from time to time. I am lucky and I am grateful.

Thanks for reading this. I just needed to say this for reasons I can’t really share here. But in the end the reasons doesn’t matter. I just needed to say it.

Challenge #2 is up on Challenge Me Happy, and the designers have done a fantabulous job again! This time we have a colour challenge. I would be so happy if YOU would participate! This time the winner gets a Tim Holtz die kindly sponsored by Scottie Crafts! This is my take on the challenge:

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to everyone who takes time to leave a comment. I’m really bad at that myself! Have a lovely weekend!

Studio Calico

Posted by swewi on May 3, 2010

Quick post my friends, I’m off to bed…

I got some papers from Studio Calico from the ladies at Scrappin’ Patch a week or so ago, to create something with. This is what I did:

some details:

Other products used: October Afternoon bingo card & stickers, alphas from Cosmo Cricket & Webster’s, misc ribbon & pins.

And some detail shots:

Other products used: October Afternoon stickers.

I didn’t really like the papers when I got them, but I’m really happy how the LO’s came together!!

And, before I go… I found out in the weekend that one of my LO’s from last year was featured on the Pink Paislee site. And today I discovered that I’m the current Pretty in Pink member in the Spotlight with that same LO. How cooooooool is that! Here’s the LO I’m talking about:

Thanks for stopping by, leave a footprint before you leave will you!

Well, believe it or not, I actually have some LO’s to share as well. I’ve been continuing with my speed scrapping, and got a couple of simple LO’s done. Here we go:

This first LO is about how Tova is like her daddy’s shadow. Whatever he does, she want to help. Very cute. Hence, the title “daddy’s little helper”

scrap-2562

The next LO is about Tova’s beloved bedtime teddy – “the dog”. Unfortunately it got lost on our last day in Sweden, and she hasn’t accepted any other teddy to be her special friend after that. The journalling is in the rolled up paper, I’ve attached a pic of it for you who understand Swedish… 🙂

Advent calendar

Posted by swewi on November 20, 2008

Today on The Sketchbook forum, I’ve done a post about a little advent calendar. Goes like this:

In Sweden, pretty much every household with kids has an advent calendar up during December. We fill it up with small pressies rather than lollies, but if you’re lucky – the odd chocolate is snuck in there… So, I decided to make a small one for my daughter, as our house is not very big.

oct-08-006

But it’s only three socks, you say?!? Yes, that’s the clever part… I have put velcro under the nubmers, so that I can just change numbers as the days go by.

oct-08-010

How to:Draw a template and cut out; trace onto patterned paper – two mirrowed socks for each sock you want to make. Sew together around the edges of the sock, leave a small border. If you’re lucky enough to have a sewing machine – use it! It takes quite a while to do it by hand, trust me…  Decorate tops with felt, paper or ribbon, and whatever you fancy. Glue a ribbon loop inside.

And, if you don’t want to make 25 socks, just do a few and put velcro onder your numbers, and they’re easy to change! I got velcro by the metre at Spotlight.

Cool isn’t it?!?

Well, I’m sure there was something else I wanted to share, but my mind has gone blank so it will have to be another day! CIAO!!

I’ve also managged to update my previous posts with some links. Better late than never, aye… Oh – and if you’re thinking of getting yourself some Magistical Memories  chippies, now is the time. They’re offering FREE SHIPPING on all orders over 25USD until 30 November. COOOOOOL!!!
