Tired much?

Posted by swewi on September 20, 2010

Yep, I sure am. I have started a full time job, and it’s making my brain quite tired! 🙂 It’s also a huge change for my two little girls… But like any other famliy with two working parents, we will get used to it and we will be fine!

So, a short and sweet post from me today, sharing my latest LO’s.

First up, a LO for Julie’s colour challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch:

Products used: Bazzill cs, BoBunny pps, embellies & alphas, & Scenic route alphas.

The buddies on this LO are Elsa & Cameron. It seems they had fun together at the Sketchbook retreat in 2009! And I’m SOOOOO thrilled the next retreat is only four sleeps away! Yayyyy!

The next LO is for the latest Allt om Scrap ezine. We had “birthdays” as our theme this week. Very suiting for me as we’ve just celebrated Tova’s fourth birthday!

Title says “opening the presents”.

Products used: Bazzill cs, Bella Blvd papers, embellies & mini alphas, Jillibean Soup alphas, misc ribbon, brad & pins. Have also used my Martha Stewart bubble punch!

And, one more for today. My latest Magistical Memories LO:

Title says “What’s on your mind?”

Products used: Kasiercraft papers & embellies, Prima flowers, misc leaf ribbon, BG alphas. The Art Deco Stems from Magistical Memories are just inked green.

And a couple of reminders before I go – most of the product I use can be found at the amazing shop  Scrappin’ Patch. Also, remember the DT search is still on at Magistical Memories. Don’t miss out on a chance to work with amazing product!!!

OK – over and out, catch you next week (if I survive!!).

….we’re back on dial-up speed. Another 9 days to go. Joy. But we’re learning (slowly), how much time we can spend online to avoid it happening again. I think…

So a quick post today, sharing two of my latest LO’s. The first one is for the September sketch for Magistical Memories. You have the chance to win a Guest DT spot if you participate. And – there’s also nice chipboard to win of course!

The title and journaling on the LO is a Kobi Yamada quote. The gorgeous lady in the photo is my wonderful friend Hannah!

Products used: MME papers, Prima flower & leaves, AC & MM alphas. The chipboard G-cleft from Magistical Memories have been inked, then I used some Shimmerz/Blingz to spark it up a bit!

Then, a LO for the recipe challenge I posted over at the Scrappin’ Patch forum today. This is the recipe:

* white cardstock
* 3 patterened papers, no more, no less
* chipboard
* use a PENCIL somewhere on your LO
* sewing (hand or machine)

And my LO:

Products used: Bazzill cs, Bella Blvd papers, alphas and embellies, Webster’s ribbon, BG alphas, pencil, sewing machine, Magistical Memories  chipboard painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint.

As always, most of what I have used can be found at the Scrappin’ Patch shop!

Thanks for stopping by my little blog, will be back soon again!

Three more days…

Posted by swewi on August 16, 2010

…until I’ve got my broadband back! Yayyyyy!

Yes I admit I am a slave to the internet. But that’s OK…

So quickly (yeah – right) just sharing a couple of LO’s with you, first the latest sketch for Creative Scrappers:

Products used: BG Oliver & Olivia papers, brads & alphas, and some bakers twine.

Then a LO for the latest sketch challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch:

Yep. It’s a Christmas LO. In August. With non-Christmas papers. 🙂

Products used: Pink Paislee pp’s, alphas & embellies & MM mini alphas. The chipboard stars are of course Magistical Memories. I’ve sprayed them with slate glimmermist!

And before I go, I’d like to share with you my daughter Tova’s first (to my knowledge) poem. She read it out to me today while playing dress-up (she was me apparently):

Poem by Tova, almost four:

“I love you mamma

from the first day I am.

Butterflies fly away,

bees sting us,

but I always cuddle you.”

Yep. That’s gonna end up on a scrapbook page near you, very soon, that’s for sure!

Has it really been that long since I blogged last? Really? Wow… Time flies… And I don’t even have a job to blame yet, I’ve just been busy!

In my last post you can win a RAK if you comment, there’s still time. Like – a few hours. So go comment if you haven’t already…

Right. Time to show you the result of my latest creativity. First, a LO for Magistical Memories – using my new sewing machine!

Products used: Bazzill kraft cs, Glitz papers, Prima flowers, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, BG doilie ribbon & buttons, baker’s twine, Webster’s alphas, inkadinkado letter stamps, & nesting circles from Magistical Memories

Are you a fan of Magistical Memories on Facebook yet? Make sure you are, there will be a lot of happenings there very, very soon, and you don’t want to miss that!

Next, a LO for Hannah’s sketch over @ Scrappin’ Patch:

Products used: Bo Bunny papers & embellies, Prima alphas.

Then a LO “just for fun”- doesn’t happen very often nowadays! I found a photo collage that I printed a while ago when I was cleaning out my scrap room, and wanted to scrap it straight away. Never got around to cleaning…

Products used: Bazzill cs, Bo Bunny papers, alphas & embellies, BG alphas, and again I have used a sewing machine.

Thanks for stopping by today. I will be back in a couple of days with the RAK winner, and some more creative stuff to share!

Changes are afoot… and a RAK!

Posted by swewi on July 19, 2010

My life is changing. I’ve started looking for a full time job, and went on my first interview today. After being home for about 4 years (with a few months break, working in the Scrapbooker’s Delight shop in Auckland) I am going to be seeing my girls WAY LESS in the future. That is if someone hires me of course, but the chances seems pretty good.

This probably means a little less time for my crafty projects as well, but we’ll see. Who needs sleep, I mean really?

So, to celebrate these changes (because change is good, right?) I have come up with another RAK. Of course I am un-organised, and I don’t have a pic of the goodies that I’m going to send somewhere in the world… But it’s going to be some stuff from some of my fav MF’s at the moment, so pretty good I think!

To win this RAK, I’d like you to tell me yours or your family’s favourite every day meal. I don’t need you to write down recipes (unless you want to), I just need some inspiration to try some different stuff for my family. And I will possibly have to start cooking my hours away in the weekend, to fill the freezer . Because if I am lucky enough to get a full time job, dinner MUST be easy to sort!

Please leave a comment IN THIS POST before midnight 31st July to be in to win. I will send worldwide!

OK, enough rambling from me, how about some LO’s?

First, the latest sketch from Creative Scrappers:

Products used: Kaisercraft papers & embellies, BG buttons, Cosmo Cricket & Webster’s alphas.

Then, for Julie’s sketch over @ Scrappin’ Patch:

Products used: BoBunny papers & embellies, BG buttons, Webster’s & Prima alphas, and a little bit of sewing too!

A LO for the theme “pain” over @ SWE Scrapbook blog:

Again, I’ve used BoBunny papers & embellies, Prima bling, AC thickers, Rose Moka mini alphas, & a gorgeous butterfly from Magistical Memories that I have painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint & I also put some distress ink on too.

OK, get your dinner tips in, and I’ll see you soon again!

Lots to share

Posted by swewi on June 14, 2010

First of all – a new Allt om Scrap ezine came out yesterday, and I have two LO’s in it. Go over there and have a look, there’s some amazing talent over there!

I’m only gonna share one of the two LO’s, since the other one is going to be a gift. I don’t think that person checks out my blog, but you never know…

This LO is about how Elsa LOVES playing with the stones in our garden. She “counts them” over and over again. Hence the title “millions of stones”:

Products used: BG basics that have been sprayed with pink chalkboard mist, October Afternoon pp, sprayed with “regular” glimmermist, BG basics border sticker, corrugated cardboard, Prima pebbles, baker’s twine from Etsy, misc tag, AC thickers, misc leftover numbers & the journaling is done on an old rusty typewriter.

Then, a LO featuring my husband, he’s a very passionate musician. It’s for a “boyzone” challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch – go check it out!

I just LOVE the new starlight papers from Pink Paislee! And I think they go well with BG basics too, don’t you? Add some Webster’s buttons, a glimmermisted Magistical Memories chipboard star that also have been wildly attacked with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint, a Martha Stewart star punch, BG basics journaling spots and Pink Paislee alphas to the mix, and you have a very masculine LO. Not a flower in sight!

I also played with the crackle paint on the paper, and it came out pretty cool. The background paper was sprayed with glimmermist chalkboard, hard to see, but very sparkly IRL!

And look – my hubby is in the next LO too, together with Elsa. The title says “sweet summer”. Man, I miss it…

This LO is up on the Swe Scrapbook blog today, it’s for a sketch.

Products used: GCD blue paper, LilyBee patterned pp & chipboard, Prima flower, AC thickers & alphas, misc doilie. Have also played with my black Pearlmaker. Don’t you just loooooooove the bright colours in this LO?

OK, that’ll be enough for tonight’s post! I’m off to bed for an early night for a change. I decided I had had enough of being a couch potato, and went for a 75 min power walk today,  so I feel a bit tired!

Thanks for stopping by, see ya!

Nope. My daughter looks NOTHING like me. I don’t think so anyway… The journaling on this LO is more about the similarities in personality. She is just as stubborn as me for example, which causes a lot of tears in our house. But she’s also just as artistic as I think I am, and is VERY loving, which I hope I am. Teenage years will be interesting in this house, that’s for sure…

Products used: Prima pp’s, tag & flower. The flower has been attached by “hula hoop” glimmermist from Tattered Angels. Robin’s Nest dewdrops, alphas from AC, and the chipboard is a nested frame from Magistical Memories. Love it. I’ve painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint.

I have been creating LOTS lately, but this is all I can share today. Thanks for visiting my little place in cyberspace!

Cough cough

Posted by swewi on June 6, 2010

Just a quick post, I’m REALLY sick with the flu. Hate it. The rain and strong wind outside doesn’t make it any better either…

Anyway – check out my presentation over at Creative Scrappers here! Make sure you check in every day to read about all the new DT’s! A new sketch will be up soon to, with half of the new DT giving you LOADS of inspiration!

When you’re done checking that out, browse over to SWE Scrapbook blog. We have interviewed our kids about the feeling “happy”, and the made a LO around that. This is my example:

Products used: 3ndy Papir patterned paper & journaling circles, Fancy Pants pom pom ribbon, Magistical Memories potty person covered with Distress stickles, October Afternoon & AC alphas, and a few misc bits and bobs. It was so much fun interviewing Tova, she’s really good at expressing her thoughts and feelings. I will definately do that again!

OK, really want to crawl back to bed, but have to go to a birthday party with Tova today. Sigh…

Use those alpha stamps!

Posted by swewi on May 13, 2010

Just a quick one tonight, while I wait for the glue to dry on the LO I’m working on!!

Have you got alpha stamps in your stash? How often do you use them? And when you get them out, how often do you use them for your title? Well, that’s today’s challenge over @ SWE Scrapbook blog, and here’s my example for that challenge:

Title says: “you build sand castles”.

Products used: Bazzill kraft cardstock, October Afternoon pp’s and embellies, Inkadinkado small alpha stamps, Autumn Leaves big alpha stamps, misc pin and twine.

I’ve also posted a LO on the Magistical Memories blog today, this one:

I have used the new looooovely  FENCE from Magistical, Bazzill white cardstock, and then My Little Shoebox papers and alphas. The  FENCE  have been painted with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint. Love that stuff…

OK, think that LO is calling my name now… Ciao!

More colour combos

Posted by swewi on April 20, 2010

So, more fun colour combos on the plate today!

Green/blue/grey for the first one. This LO is up on the SWE Scrapbook blog today. This colour combo was PERFECT for the new Pink Paislee papers & embellies, don’t you think? The title, that is put in a Magistical Memories chipboard nesting frame that I glimmermmisted, smooched and shimmerized, says “11 months”. There’s also some Green Tara lace, Maya Road pins, MM acrylic paint and Prima pearls on the LO. I used the Magistical Memories April sketch for this LO, and I’m really happy with it!

Then, the colour combo green/blue/brown/hot pink. Ha. Not so easy! This is for a challenge over at Magdas, a Swedish shop. Together with this colour combo, there were like 20 words/products that needed to be on the LO, and we also had to scraplift a LO with all the things on it. HARD!!! This is the reslut anyway:

Products used: Upsy Daisy Design pp’s, Prima flowers, alphas & pearls, Green Tara lace, Jenni Bowlin mini alphas, misc pins, an old bookpage that have been glimmermisted, and some of it I made leaves of. The Magistical Memories chipboard is a new release, it’s called “Ornamental Corner”. I painted it with acrylic paint, then added some crackle stuff.

Let’s see, what else… Oh, have done another few LO’s for Magdas. Here’s one for a challenge to do a LO in spring colours/mode. It’s spring in Sweden, you see. I had a pic of Tova from our spring, in October 2009 that I thought suited the challenge.

Title says “spring is in the air”.

Products used: Bazzill cs, BG “Sugar Rush” pp’s, embellies & alphas, Jilliben Soup journal sprout & AC thickers. I think that LO took me about 15 minutes to do, while talking to my mum on the phone!! That’s what I like with paper kits – they fit so well togehter!

Rightio, back to reality for me. I’m training my youngest to sleep on her own – way too late in our lives, but better late than never I guess. It’s hard work, but it needs to be done. Thanks for stopping by, all your comments and thoughts are very appreciated!!!
