The good, the bad and the ugly

The good: Mr Mojo has been doing short visits to my scrap studio.   I have hopes he will come for a longer visit soon!!!

 

The bad: the head honcho at the Swedish challenge blog Liftvarning, where I was lucky enough to be CT member, have decided to not continue with the site. It’s a real shame, and I’m really sad about this. Her reasons are all understandable, but it doesn’t make it less sad. If I had more hours in the day, I would take over, but it’s not really something I can do right now.

 

The ugly: my house. It’s such a mess!! The last few days I’ve been concentrating on my sick little baby, and have put all the chores on the back burner. I know I’ve done the right thing, but man!! The house looks like it’s been hit by a tornado!!! After another doctors visit with Elsa today, I have hopes that she’ll be better soon, and that will hopefully mean I’ll find some time to do some cleaning. Not that I want to IYKWIM, but it needs to be done. Ugly I tell ya!!!

 

OK, so I have some LO’s to show you. In my last post I totally forgot to show the last creations I did with my last kit from Scrappin’ Patch. So here they are now:

 

 

 

Products used: Prima paper stack “Sasha” pp’s, Bazzill cs, butterflies are Bazzill just the edge that I’ve cut out, and I’ve sprayed them with glimmermist. Then some twine, Heidi Swapp pin, Carolee’s Creations and BG alphas.

 

 

I also made two cards with the scraps I had left:

 

 

 

 

With my kit also came ONE pp from Basic Grey’s Lime Rickey collection. You know how much I love Lime Rickey, so was happy about that!! I added some Bazzill cs, a Prima flower, some Lime Rickey chipboard and BG alphas.

 

 

 

 

All the DT girls @ Scrappin’ Patch got a little parcel last week, containing some Prima leaves and some Robin’s Nest dewdrops. This is how I used mine:

 

 

 

Other products used: I sprayed some glimmermist on a Bazzill swiss dotted cs, and cut out the clouds, the frame is MME, the cherries are October afternoon. I made a fabric button with a Prima stamp, and the alphas are AC thickers and Webster’s Pages.

 

The title says “Safe with mum”, and the journaling is about how we when the photo was taken were oblivious about what was going to happen the next day – going to Starship hospital and staying there for three days. Not a happy memory, but an important one!

 

Then, a LO for the latest weekly challenge over at the Sketchbook, set by me!! The challenge is to use products from two manufacturers only. I have used Cosmo Cricket pp’s and embellies, and AC thickers. The title says “peek-a-boo!”.

 

 

 

 

Then, a LO with my new favourite photo :

 

 

 

 

Products used: Bazzill kraft cs, Prima & Bo Bunny patterned pp, Collage Press journaling spot, Kaisercraft pearls, Prima flower, MM pins, twine, Prima packaging, butterfly and leaves made of cardboard, MME word and Carolee’s Creations and AC alphas.

Half the year is gone…

…and a lot has happened in my life so far in 2009!!! New baby, new house – and everything that goes with that, new challenges in my scrapbooking world, lots! It has certainly been ups and downs in both departments, but that’s how it’s supposed to be, isn’t it?

For another challenge over at Magistical Memories I did a keyring:

 

 

My latest challenge over at the Sketchbook  is a colour challenge – blue/green/red. My example “hi there nana” here:

 

 

Products used: Bazzill cs as base, and the leaves are cut out from an ebossed cs from Bazzill. Patterned pp from my scraps, butterfly from May Butler, Kaisercraft rhinestones, BG & AC alphas, and flowers from Prima. 

I also posted a challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch. The challenge is to use at least 4 layers and do 50+ words journaling. My example is my LO “unique” that is posted in the Cosmo Cricket post below!!

Carpe Diem

Well, I tell ya, I have been scrapping up a storm the last few days. This inspite of having a family with the flu, and having mastitis myslef. But a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right? Unfortunately, I’m not quite ready to show you all of the creations that has been done. Well, maybe just one…

 

 

This is the latest LO for Liftvarning. Quite like how this one came out. LOVE the photos!!!

 

 

Products used: Bazzill dotted cs, brown/blue pp from my scraps, Prima ribbon & flower, Kaisercraft rub-on, American Craft alphas, Pink Paislee chipboard journaling box, BG buttons.

Liftvarning

I’ve had a rough day with the kiddies today. Am relieved they went to bed quite easily tonight so that I could just sit on the couch for a while before hitting my scraphaven… Not expecting much to get done though, but it’s great to have the opportunity. Fingers crossed they’ll sleep for a while now!

Anyway. It’s Wednesday, which means a new LO up for lift @ Liftvarning! Today and three Wednesday’s on we’re lifting the creative team. This week my LO looks like this: (can you spot my new favourite range of papers??? Yes! Lime Rickey!!!)

 

 

There’s also a Green Tara flower sprayed with glimmermist, Carolee’s Creations mini alphas, Pearlmaker and a Jillibean Soup journaling tag on there.

 

Speaking of Jillibean Soup, I don’t think I shared my LO for last weeks lift @ Liftvarning? I’ve used a lovely embossed cs from Bazill, paper from Crate paper and then some Jillibean Soup together with Rose Moka minialphas & BG alphas. Another LO for my Sweden album. Can you believe I was there A YEAR AGO?!?!?! Time sure flies…

 

 

Okidoki. Back to the scrapping desk. Trying to decide if I should work on the mini album I just started, or try and finish the LO that’s been staring at me for the last couple of days.

My oh my…

It’s been busy around my house. Sick kiddos just make the days so much more busy!! Fingers crossed they’re both on the mend now. Although Elsa had her shots today, so she might be feeling crap later. One hour at a time at the moment!

 

 

So. It’s been a few days since I shared my creations with you. I’m suuuuuuure you’ve missed me…

 

Let’s start with the LO for Liftvarning. If you wanna play, you need to get your LO in before tomorrow morning, NZ time. I’ve used Collage Press die cut pp, 3 bugs in a rug & MM pp, 2Crafty chipboard butterflies, painted with maroon ink, Bazill pom pom ribbon, Maya Road rub-ons, Carolee’s creations & AC alphas, pearlmaker, random white flower and white journaling pen. The title says “Christmas fun”.

 

 

Then, the ongoing weekly challenge over at the Sketchbook. Beverly set this weeks challenge, and it’s to scrap in GRUNGE style. Don’t know if my LO is grunge, but here it is anyway…

 

 

 

Products used; kraft cs, brown and red glimmermist, brown ink, Prima flowers, Bo Bunny ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, journaling tags from Paper Plus, staples, BG alphas.

 

Yesterday I set a challenge at Scrappin’ Patch - to play with your journaling spots! I got some cool journaling spots from Jillibean Soup recently, and tried to be creative with them on this LO. Papers & other embellies are  my new fav – BG Lime Rickey – alphas are also BG, but another range.

First out, two LO’s that I created with Rose Moka products that the nice ladies at Scrappin’ Patch sent me with my kit. I ended up doing two pages for my VERY neglected Sweden album, so very happy about that! The first LO is about Tova playing with tractors, and the fact that she should maybe have been born a boy… The second one says “cousin”, and I think you can guess that the man on the photo is just that. My cousin.

 

 

 

 

 

While we’re on the Swedish album, I also made a LO for last weeks scraplift over at Liftvarning in that format. It was a tough LO to lift in my opinion, but here it is!  This is Tova’s and Elsa’s cousin.

 

 

By the way, it would be cool to see some NZ entries on that blog…

While we’re on the subject of scraplifting, here’s a LO I scraplifted from Nic Howard. Loooooooove the new Basic Grey Lime Rickey that arrived from Scrappin’ Patch the other day!!! Love it love it love it!!!

In a (s)crappy mood

It’s been raining lately. Pretty much every day. Kind of depressing! But that’s NZ winter for ya… So. I’ve been feeling a bit blue. What makes me feel better?? SCRAPPING!!!

 

 

I have some stuff to share, so here we go:

 

More DT work for Scrappin’ Patch first. I got three papers from Melissa Frances, and together with some glimmermist, some Prima products, and other bits and pieces, this is the result. One LO and two cards:

 

 

 

 

 

This LO is an example for Ruth’s new challenge over at the Sketchbook. It’s REALLY simple, but I like it!!:

 

 

The next LO is not as simple. I had real trouble finishing it actually… It’s for my shabby chic challenge at Scrappin’ Patch. The theme is mother’s day. Here’s the LO, and some detail shots, the hidden journaling for example!

 

 

 

 

 

And, it’s Wednesday, so a new LO to lift is up @ Liftvarning. This is my take. I was very happy to see this particular shape on this weeks LO… The title says “tired girl”.

 

 

 

 

The head honcho @ Liftvarning, Kate, has some challenges running on her own blog, celebrating that she’s been scrapping for two years now in May. I’ve managed to do two challenges so far. The first LO is for a sketch, the title says “the dummie”. The second one is for a colour challenge, and the title says “beach monkey”.

New lift…

Haven’t got anything else to share, but that doesn’t mean I’m not busy scrapping!!! Are preparing challenges for Scrappin’ Patch and The Sketchbook, and are working with my DT stuff for Scrappin’ Patch.

 

In ohter news – I was the lucky winner of the April sketch challenge with my LO “mezmerised” on Up2Scrap’s blog. Yay me! I won a FANTSTIC mini album and a set of GORGEOUS ribbons from 7Gypsies. Am using the ribbon on the LO I’m working on at the moment, ’cause my prize arrived yesterday. How quick was that?!?!

 

Speaking of  Up2Scrap. If you got the new mag, you can see a LO from me on page 51. Very cool. It’s only my second time being published, so it’s very exciting for me!

 

Right. Better go makes sure Tova is eating her weet bix herself, and not feeding it to her baby sister… Will be back with a new post later in the week, when I can share some more creations!!

Do you like to scraplift?

I do! I think it’s an excellent way to create. You can find so much inspiration in others layouts. So. That’s why I’m SO HAPPY about the fact that I am one of the designers/contributors to the new, hot, Swedish, scraplift challenge blog “LIFTVARNING“!!!! (roughly translated; warning for lift)

 

Yay me! I feel so proud to be “recognized” on the Swedish scrapscene!

 

 

Every Wednesday a new LO gets published on the blog, together with the DT/contributors take. You then have ’til Tuesday the next week to email YOUR lift. There’s no prizes involved, but the DT will vote on who gets published in the blog every week. Cool huh??? Also – anyone can email in a LO for the team to lift! If you’re not Swedish – let me know if you have queries about all this, and I’ll help you!!

This is my LO for the first lift; “Little Elsa”:

 

 

I’ve used “the other side” on some BG Wassail paper, BG brads, some ribbon, a pin and mini alphas from MM, and thickers from American Craft. I used a Hero Arts script stamp on my flowers from Kaisercraft, and the tickets are home made.

 

IN OTHER NEWS - we’re celebrating (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day on the Scrappin’ Patch Forum on Saturday. Don’t miss that!!! I might miss it, unfortunately… We might go see family up north for the weekend, but we’ll see. After all – scrapbooking is VERY important. Right?
