Another week gone by…

Posted by swewi on September 27, 2010

…and I’m still SOOOOO tired! I’ve dealt with a bad cough on top of getting used to the working full time thing, but I feel a bit better now!

This past weekend I hung out with 35 wonderfully creative and lovely ladies @ Megan’s retreat. Megan’s retreat are always so well organised, and we always get great food. It was GREAT FUN this year, with two lovely classes, just like all previous years! I didn’t end up doing as many LO’s as previous years, but it was just lovely spending time with all the inspiring girls who were there.

Now, time to share a couple of LO’s.

Fist, a LO for a word challenge over @ Scrappin’  Patch:

Products used: Bazzill cs sprayed with glimmermist, Bo Bunny papers, embellies & alphas, Prima flower & leaves, My Little Shoebox mini alphas, misc bling.

Then for Creative Scrappers - it’s my last sketch with them as my term ends now in September:

Products used: Bazzill cs, Crate Paper pp’s & embellies, Prima vine & flowers, Kaisercraft bling, BG alphas, and I’ve also used my sewing machine.

It has been great to be a part of such an amazing site as Creative Scrappers, and I will miss it!

Buuuuuuuuut – it’s not like I will have nothing to do without it. I am VERY EXCITED to tell you that I am now a SCARLET – designing for the amazing paper manufacturer KIKI ART! I can’t wait to dig in to her wonderful designs! I will update my sidebar soon with links to the other FABULOUS designers on the team!

OK, my bed is calling my name. Will be back in a few days to share some more!

It’s Monday…

Posted by swewi on September 13, 2010

…and the day after my gorgeous Tova’s 4th birthday! She had a GREAT day with presents, cake and FRIENDS over to play! Next family birthday is MINE and I hope that day is just as fun!

OK, sharing time! First, sketch #121 from Creative Scrappers:

Products used: Prima papers, vine, flowers, alphas & lace, and AC thickers. There’s also a very old angel bookmark that was one of my prize posessions as a child. :)

Then, a LO for the latest Allt om Scrap ezine. This time we’re scrapping about our jobs, My job at the moment, apart from being a mum, is to FIND a new job. So, I spend a lot of time online, looking for that perfect job.

Products used: Bazzill cardstock sprayed with glimmermist, Tim Holtz masks &  cogs, Bazzill basics embellies, AC thickers, 7Gypsies tape, misc pin, chipboard, ribbon & pin, Inkadinkado alpha stamps, and I did some sewing too.

I normally don’t scrap “non-people” photos, but really like how this LO came together!

See you soon again, have a great week!

Sketch #119

Posted by swewi on August 30, 2010

There’s a new sketch up over at Creative Scrappers! I really love this sketch, but for some reason I couldn’t get the LO together… Funny when that happens! Here it is anyway, my gorgeous girls in a sweet moment…

Products used: Bazzill cs, Echo Park pp’s, Webster’s bloomers, Prima flower, leaves & butterfly, Magistical Memories scalloped chipboard circle, painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint, and then I have used pearlmaker to make the pearls on the frame. Misc tag, AC thickers & Jillibean Soup alphas have kindyglitz on them (hard to see!), and then I have used Martha Stewart butterfly punch, and a bubble punch from EK Success.

Most of what I have used can be found at Scrappin’ Patch of course!

And then you need to check out the new Allt Om Scrap ezine! It’s filled to the brim with amazing inspiration. This month we also have a big “download on your screen” issue, where you can find my FIRST DIGITAL LO! Yes – you read it right… But don’t be alarmed, I’m not leaving my scissors, glue and punches behind any time soon… But it was fun! Thanks to Louise whose kit I used!

OK, my PC time is up. See you soon!

Three more days…

Posted by swewi on August 16, 2010

…until I’ve got my broadband back! Yayyyyy!

Yes I admit I am a slave to the internet. But that’s OK…

So quickly (yeah – right) just sharing a couple of LO’s with you, first the latest sketch for Creative Scrappers:

Products used: BG Oliver & Olivia papers, brads & alphas, and some bakers twine.

Then a LO for the latest sketch challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch:

Yep. It’s a Christmas LO. In August. With non-Christmas papers. :)

Products used: Pink Paislee pp’s, alphas & embellies & MM mini alphas. The chipboard stars are of course Magistical Memories. I’ve sprayed them with slate glimmermist!

And before I go, I’d like to share with you my daughter Tova’s first (to my knowledge) poem. She read it out to me today while playing dress-up (she was me apparently):

Poem by Tova, almost four:

“I love you mamma

from the first day I am.

Butterflies fly away,

bees sting us,

but I always cuddle you.”

Yep. That’s gonna end up on a scrapbook page near you, very soon, that’s for sure!

Changes are afoot… and a RAK!

Posted by swewi on July 19, 2010

My life is changing. I’ve started looking for a full time job, and went on my first interview today. After being home for about 4 years (with a few months break, working in the Scrapbooker’s Delight shop in Auckland) I am going to be seeing my girls WAY LESS in the future. That is if someone hires me of course, but the chances seems pretty good.

This probably means a little less time for my crafty projects as well, but we’ll see. Who needs sleep, I mean really?

:)

So, to celebrate these changes (because change is good, right?) I have come up with another RAK. Of course I am un-organised, and I don’t have a pic of the goodies that I’m going to send somewhere in the world… But it’s going to be some stuff from some of my fav MF’s at the moment, so pretty good I think!

To win this RAK, I’d like you to tell me yours or your family’s favourite every day meal. I don’t need you to write down recipes (unless you want to), I just need some inspiration to try some different stuff for my family. And I will possibly have to start cooking my hours away in the weekend, to fill the freezer . Because if I am lucky enough to get a full time job, dinner MUST be easy to sort!

Please leave a comment IN THIS POST before midnight 31st July to be in to win. I will send worldwide!

OK, enough rambling from me, how about some LO’s?

First, the latest sketch from Creative Scrappers:

Products used: Kaisercraft papers & embellies, BG buttons, Cosmo Cricket & Webster’s alphas.

Then, for Julie’s sketch over @ Scrappin’ Patch:

Products used: BoBunny papers & embellies, BG buttons, Webster’s & Prima alphas, and a little bit of sewing too!

A LO for the theme “pain” over @ SWE Scrapbook blog:

Again, I’ve used BoBunny papers & embellies, Prima bling, AC thickers, Rose Moka mini alphas, & a gorgeous butterfly from Magistical Memories that I have painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint & I also put some distress ink on too.

OK, get your dinner tips in, and I’ll see you soon again!

Sketch #111 is live over at Creative Scrappers, go check it out! And while you’re there, take note of the Guest DT search we have! You gotta be in to win!

This is my take of sketch #111:

Products used: MME papers & alphas, Prima flowers, Jenni Bowlin pins. Title says “loved”.

Then, for the latest sketch challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch, sketch by me this time!

Products used: Cosmo Cricket DeLovely papers & embellies, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Prima bling.

And let me tell you – there is HUGE fun happening on the Scrappin’ Patch forum at the moment! We have an awesome competition with AMAZING prizes, starting Wednesday. Anf there’s still time to sign up if you haven’t already!

This next LO is for today’s sketch on the SWE Scrapbook blog:

Products used: Bazzill cs, BoBunny “sun kissed” papers, alphas & embellies.

I really love BoBunny’s latest releases, just awesome colour combos! So – here’s another BoBunny LO:

This time using the BoBunny “block party” papers & embellies. I did this LO for Scrappin’ Patch, showcasing the Tim Holtz distress stickles. I have used the “broken china”. Looooooove it!!! And doesn’t it fit well with the “block party” colours?

Lastly – and well done if you made it all the way here – another LO I did for Scrappin’ Patch, showcasing a Bazzill glazed cardstock:

Other products used: Bazzill black cs, Martha Stewart border punch, Prima music stamp &  StazOn ink, BG buttons, Kaisercraft bling, Cosmo Cricket alphas, MM journaling thingie & paperclip, misc tulle.

And – before you go – check out the Aussie Scrap Source blog - my “garden games” LO is featured there today! Very, very cool!!!

I’m a Friday fave!

Posted by swewi on June 20, 2010

In my last post I shared a very colourful LO called “sweet summer” using lily bee products. Today I checked their blog, and that LO was one of their Friday faves! Very coooooool!!!

I’ve just come back from a weekend scrapping with a few friends. It was awesome, and I got 15 LO’s done! Most of them, of course, are LO’s that I can’t just show yet, but here’s a couple that I CAN share:

This is for a colour challenge for the Swedish shop designat. The title says “swinging makes you happy”. I have used the new gorgeous “DeLovely” range from Cosmo Cricket, Webster’s Bloomers, misc brad & AC thickers. The chipboard clouds are from The Dusty Addict, they’re covered in “picket fence” crackle paint by Tim Holtz.

Then, a LO for the latest “budget to blitz” challenge over at Scrappin’ Patch:

The criteria is to use only one piece of cardstock, and one piece of patterned paper (double sided) to make your embellishments. I have used a Bazzill swiss dotted cardstock, and a BoBunny paper. Made my own letters for the title as you can see, and used a Martha Stewart punch to make that fence!

Then, a LO I made a while ago, for sketch #109 over at Creative Scrappers. The reveal is up today!!! The talent and variety of styles over there just BLOW MY MIND! Here’s mine:

I tried something different on this LO. I played with Tim Holtz crackle paints in the background, together with a Prima stamp. I then added some Pink Paislee papers, a misc ribbon, AC ribbon, bakers twine, a Hanbly transparency, a 7Gypsies tab, yellow pearlmaker, a chipboard fence from The Dusty Attic that has been crackle painted and inked, BG mini alphas & monogram. I REALLY like how this LO came out, but was stressing about it while working on it.

Lastly – it’s Sunday, so a new “Allt om Scrap” ezine is out. We’ve scrapped about “dreams” this time. Go and check it out, I’ll share my LO in a day or so…

:)

Thanks for visiting my blog today, see you soon!

Cough cough

Posted by swewi on June 6, 2010

Just a quick post, I’m REALLY sick with the flu. Hate it. The rain and strong wind outside doesn’t make it any better either…

Anyway – check out my presentation over at Creative Scrappers here! Make sure you check in every day to read about all the new DT’s! A new sketch will be up soon to, with half of the new DT giving you LOADS of inspiration!

When you’re done checking that out, browse over to SWE Scrapbook blog. We have interviewed our kids about the feeling “happy”, and the made a LO around that. This is my example:

Products used: 3ndy Papir patterned paper & journaling circles, Fancy Pants pom pom ribbon, Magistical Memories potty person covered with Distress stickles, October Afternoon & AC alphas, and a few misc bits and bobs. It was so much fun interviewing Tova, she’s really good at expressing her thoughts and feelings. I will definately do that again!

OK, really want to crawl back to bed, but have to go to a birthday party with Tova today. Sigh…
