Creativity

It’s a funny thing. Creativity. It doesn’t necessarily come in to place when you want it to. When you are have planned to BE creative, when you are child free, or even when you have a WHOLE WEEKEND set aside for it.

I spent last weekend in scrappy heaven, with 144 other scrap crazy ladies, at the Autumn Escape. I was all geared up and ready to do some SERIOUS scrapping, but no. I didn’t “feel” it. I had a WONDERFUL time with my friends, and I had three AWESOME classes; two with Piradee & one with Rachel Tucker. I had loads of new product with me that I was looking forward to using, but no. It didn’t really happen.

I don’t dislike any of the LO’s I finished, but you know the feeling – you feel average. Nothing mindblowing in my bag going home. Such a shame. But that’s life.

Some of what I did is still under wraps, but here are a couple that I CAN share.

1st up – a LO for the latest MME challenge, using hexagons:

I did a whole lotta creating for Molly’s at the retreat, and as soon as it’s been up on the blog – I will share!

This is a card I made for 2Crafty before I went to AE, it was used as a thank you card for one of the sponsors for the weekend; Lily Bee:

Now I have to find some time & MOJO to finish off a few projects, and to make a card for a very SPECIAL little newborn!

Something’s wrong…

Yep. I am serious. There’s something seriously wrong with me. I have started making a few cards. Like many. And I love it. See?! Something is WRONG here! I am not a cardmaker! But I am enjoying it, AND I am even happy with the end result!

 

All thanks to the latest card competition over at the Nook forum. So there you go. Miracles DO happen! So – time to share! My three latest cards, did them all on Saturday, while doing housework and having fun with the family!

My Minds Eye

I decided to play along with My Minds Eye’s challenges for November. BOTH the LO and card sketch. I won’t show you my card, because the people recieving it might peek in here!! But here’s the LO, using 6×6 pads only, and Spellbinder dies. And some alphas of course… And the brads are from Girl’s Paperie. Um, and a Prima mask & some glimmermist… Oh – and a Prima flower & cherry flowers from Mollys Scrapbooking. I think that’s all…

 

 

There’s still plenty of time to enter the challenges, if you want to have a go!

Easter?

I’ve had a few very crafty days. Thursday saw me enjoying two Prima classes, taught bt Cari Fennel & Sharon Lakkonen. I managed to finish two minialbums, who will be perfect as Christmas presents I think…

 

Then, I enjoyed a weekend away with a few other scrappy girlfriends. One of them came all the way from Invercargill!!

 

So – I got a few things to share, but most of what I did can’t be share straight away. You know the deal… But here we go!

 

Never have I combined Cosmo Cricket papers with big, bold flowers – but in the LO below I did. The material including the lovely Manorhouse flowers all comes from Mollys, and the LO is based from the October sketch over at Manorhouse. AND – the title says Easter. It’s Elsa enjoying a rather large chocolate Easter bunny…

A creative break?

If you know me, you know I HAVE to create every day to stay happy. It doesn’t have to be much, I just need to do SOMETHING creative. THe last few weeks I haven’t been able to do something everyday, because of a constant pain in my right arm, all the way from the shoulder to my fingertips. I am trying to find answers to what this can be, and in the meantime I’m feeling sorry for myself, for not being able to do what I want.

 

Anyway, I’m sure this is something that will pass. It has to be. Random creating isn’t enough for me, and that’s that.

 

So, I had some good news this morning. I’m on the shortlist for the new DT over at My Scrapbook Nook!  There’s 40 names on the list, so the chance of getting on is SLIM, but I really hope I will get the chance! It’s an outstanding kit club, and the talent on there is outrageous!

 

On the forum, they asked us to post our favourite LO at the moment, and I had a hard time choosing. I guess that’s a good thing right? Well, I chose one of my latest LO, but it got me thinking. How many LO’s have I created so far this year? Working full time, I expected it to be a fairly low number, but I was surprised. I have done 97 LO’s so far this year. Seeing as today is day 241 out of 365, I’m pretty happy!

 

So, since this is my blog, and I can do whatever I want on here I’d like to share some of my favourites from my creations this year. Here goes:

D-lish Scraps GDT

Hi people! Welcome to my place in cyberspace! If this is your first time here; grab a cuppa and have a browse. I hope you find this place inspiring!

 

I am VERY HONOURED to be this month’s Guest Designer for the Australian company D-lish Scraps! The name says it all really, it’s D-lish! Amanda sent me a box full of lovelyness, and so far I have created a card for my aunty. She lost her husband last week, and I wanted to send her a little something. The sentiment “kram” means “hugs” in Swedish.

Challenge Me Happy

Sooooooo; this is MY take on challenge #1:

 

 

There’s a lot of misting and a lot of chipboard going on there. Quite like it I think!

 

OK, what else can I share: Oh yes, a LO with the “Lawn Party” kit from Studio Calico. This months kit is SERIOUSLY delayed, which is a bit worrying, but fingers crossed it turns up eventually!

 

 

Misting, clouds, you’ve seen it all before. It’s what I do at the moment…

 

Can also share the latest LO I did for the Allt Om Scrap big issue, published a few weeks back. Using Echo Park for this one. LOVE the colours!

 

 

Title says “morning secrets”. It’s not the greatest photo, but to capture a moment like this of my girls, sharing secrets and playing nice feels like finding gold any day…

Creativity

This post have been a draft for a few days now. Just haven’t got around to push “publish”! My new adventure Challenge Me Happy is taking some of my time, but that’s all good. I hope you have all checked out the blog and found us on Facebook!

 

I just have a couple of LO’s to share. LO’s that I have done for challenges on various sites! Having lots of inspiration at the moment, but not a lot of time to make use of it, so the LO’s below are quite simple. Still, I like them, and I like the style I tend to create in at the moment!
