Well look at that!

First time I played along with Sketchy Thursdays, and I’m picked as a favourite! So cool! There was a LOT of fantastic LO’s so I’m sooooooo happy!! Now I get to post this cool badge on my sidebar!!

Oh – do you want to see the LO?

The Bazzill cs have been attacked with glimmermist, then I sewed on some corrugated cardboard, the pp’s words and birds are October Afternoon, Prima flowers, BG buttons, Bo Bunny brads, alphas from Prima & Webster’s, and then some twine.

I’ve also taken part in a challenge for a Swedish shop/MF – Reprint. The challenge was to use no cardstock. For this LO I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers.

Products used: Pink Paislee pp’s and flip notes, Prima flowers, leaves, pebbles & lace, Zva Creative bling, Kaisercraft pearls, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, alphas from Carolee’s Creations, Webster’s and BG.

Have also done another page for the challenges over at Magdas, a recipe challenge with 11 (!!!)  ingredients. This is the result of that:

Again, the Bazzill cs is attacked with glimmermist, and then it’s Prima papers, flowers, bling & alphas, Webster’s lovely bloomers, die-cut from MME & misc brads.

I’ve actually got even more to share, but I will save that for another day!

To sew or not to sew

A while back I bought an OLD sewing machine on Trade Me, cheap. After using it like two times, it broke in the under thread department. I fixed it at the time (or so I thought), but then didn’t use it for a few months. In the weekend I was creating, and wanted to add some sewing. I got the machine out, and after about three seconds the maching broke, again. Sigh. Luckily my project wasn’t wrecked, but I wanted to finish it! So, I do what I normally do – I ask my lovely friend Louise  (who lives across the streat pretty much), if I can borrow hers. She has everything a scrapbooker needs – and then some – and she’s very nice in helping me out!

So on Monday morning after taking the girls to the doctor’s, I went to Louise’s house and picked the machine up. Since then I have finished 2 1/2 projects, and am hurrying to finish some more so that I can give her back the machine. Not because I want to, but because it’d be rude to steal her machine now that she’s been so nice to me…

Here’s two LO’s that I could finish off thanks to Louise:

This LO is for a challenge over @ Magdas. Products used: Zva Creative bling & rosebuds, Bazzill cs, Pink Paislee pp, embellies and alphas, Webster’s Pages lace, Tim Holtz safety pin, Martha Stewart punches, Kaisercraft chipboard alphas painted with golden smooch, misc golden string, misc flower, & some crackle accent (on cork buttons & black alphas).

This LO has been in my head since I got the new gorgeous Pink Paislee pp’s with Mr Courier. Products used; ZVA Creative bling & roses. The roses are painted with turqouise Shimmerz Blingz. Bazzill cardstock, Pink Paislee paper & embellishments, October Afternoon paper, Webster’s Pages & Carolee’s Creations alphas, Prima ribbon, Cosmo Cricket & Basic Grey buttons, Martha Stewart punch, black journaling pen.

Most of the products I have used can be found in the Scrappin’ Patch shop. They’re looking for a new DT member by the way, are you gonna apply? Go on, you will love it! And you would get to work with ME!!

Crate Paper

A couple of weeks ago, I created a “take out kit” for Scrappin’ Patch, containing papers from Crate Paper, Brook collection. I actually got to choose products myself, and I made the possibly silly choice to choose “boy colours”, instead of the girly colours that might have been good, considering I have two girls…

But – I wanted to show that you can actually do girl pages in so called boy colours, and I think I did pretty good!! The kit that contains enough products to create four LO’s (with instructions) is for sale for only $31 in the shop now, and here are two of the four LO’s that I did:

The alphas from BG & Rose Moka are not included in the kit, but you can find them in the shop.

Again, the alphas, this time from BG & Prima are not included in the kit. BUT – the instructions and materials to make that cool calico heart is, and all the rest of course…

So – do you think I pulled the whole boy versus girl colours off, scrapping my girls?

More colour combos

So, more fun colour combos on the plate today!

Green/blue/grey for the first one. This LO is up on the SWE Scrapbook blog today. This colour combo was PERFECT for the new Pink Paislee papers & embellies, don’t you think? The title, that is put in a Magistical Memories chipboard nesting frame that I glimmermmisted, smooched and shimmerized, says “11 months”. There’s also some Green Tara lace, Maya Road pins, MM acrylic paint and Prima pearls on the LO. I used the Magistical Memories April sketch for this LO, and I’m really happy with it!

Then, the colour combo green/blue/brown/hot pink. Ha. Not so easy! This is for a challenge over at Magdas, a Swedish shop. Together with this colour combo, there were like 20 words/products that needed to be on the LO, and we also had to scraplift a LO with all the things on it. HARD!!! This is the reslut anyway:

Products used: Upsy Daisy Design pp’s, Prima flowers, alphas & pearls, Green Tara lace, Jenni Bowlin mini alphas, misc pins, an old bookpage that have been glimmermisted, and some of it I made leaves of. The Magistical Memories chipboard is a new release, it’s called “Ornamental Corner”. I painted it with acrylic paint, then added some crackle stuff.

Let’s see, what else… Oh, have done another few LO’s for Magdas. Here’s one for a challenge to do a LO in spring colours/mode. It’s spring in Sweden, you see. I had a pic of Tova from our spring, in October 2009 that I thought suited the challenge.

Title says “spring is in the air”.

Products used: Bazzill cs, BG “Sugar Rush” pp’s, embellies & alphas, Jilliben Soup journal sprout & AC thickers. I think that LO took me about 15 minutes to do, while talking to my mum on the phone!! That’s what I like with paper kits – they fit so well togehter!

Rightio, back to reality for me. I’m training my youngest to sleep on her own – way too late in our lives, but better late than never I guess. It’s hard work, but it needs to be done. Thanks for stopping by, all your comments and thoughts are very appreciated!!!

Colours

Do you have a favourite colour scheme to scrapbook in? The LO’s I’m about to share with you are for restricted colour schemes, and some proved to be harder than others!

First – GREEN – for SWE Scrapbook blog:

Apart from the Bazzill cs, this is all Prima. The “you” letters are fabric, and I have used silvery shimmerz on them. looks very cool IRL! Oh, and the mini alphas are Rose Moka.

Then, blue/yellow/pink for a challenge on a Swedish site, Magdas:

Now THAT was difficult!!! Even though I used one of my fav photos of Tova, it was hard getting those colours to work…

Products used: Papers from Little Yellow Bicycle, Pink Paislee & Sassafras Lass, Prima flowers, leaves & bling, AC thickers, BG alphas, misc pin & ribbon. Title says “smile, and the world will smile back at you”.

For a scraplift challenge @ Magdas, I scrapped my latest favourite photo of the girls. They now have one LO each with this photo in their albums, but I can see myself using it again…

The title says “a moment of peace”.

The gorgeous background paper on this LO is from a Swedish MF; Maja Design. Isn’t it beautiful? Other products used: MM acrylic paint, Websters lace, Prima flowers, leaves and bling, Maya Rd pins, Pink Paislee rub-ons, AC thickers & Carolee’s Creations mini alphas.

Next time, I’m gonna share another cool colour combination with you. I am working with PINK PAISLEE papers!!

Quick quick share

A couple more of the quick, simple LO’s I’ve been doing lately, mostly with inspiration from Brunsons cyber crop.

First, a LO from a sketch:

Title says: “In mum’s and dad’s footsteps”, and the journaling in the right hand corner is a Swedish saying, translated something like this: “If you want to bend something, you need to start soften it up early”. Does that make sense at all???

Products used: Bazzill kraft cs, glimmermist, Fancy Pants patterned pp, embellies & alphas, Prima bling, Jenni Bowlin bingo card, Carolee’s Creations mini alphas. I have also used Shimmerz Blingz on the corrugated cardboard.

Title says: “gardener”. The girl in the photo is my gorgeous niece.

Products used: Bazzill swiss dotted cs, Cosmo Cricket pp, Prima flowers, AC flair, BG alphas, misc pin, tags, buttons, feathers & twine.

Then a LO that is up on the SWE Scrapbook blog today, featuring a gorgeous new realease chipboard from Magistical Memories - the heart tree. Love it!

Other products used: Bazzill white cs, glimmermist, 3ndy papir patterned pp, tree is painted with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint, the mesh is from Green Tara, BG buttons, Prima & Carolee’s creations alphas, Fancy Pants trim, Crystalina kindyglitz.

What am I excited about?

I’m excited about having done my first Guest DT assignment! A very cool sketch site – CREATIVE SCRAPPERS - is having a birthday celebration, and have invited guest designers to play with their sketches! Today my LO is up here! Cooooooooooool!

I love this site! They have very inspiring sketches, a great DT, and cool prizes! This month for example, my favourite overseas kit club My Scrapbook Nook is sponsoring. Love that! You should check them out if you haven’t already!

Creativity is a funny thing

I have always envied people who has creativity as their job. You know – artists, composers, writers, graphic designers – you name it. In my “youth” I sort of had music as my profession, but I never really found it to be hard. I remember talking to Benny Andersson (you know, the beardy one in ABBA) one of the three times I met him about this. He actually “went to work” when writing his music. He was at his office/studio between 9-5, and did what he needed to do between those hours. I imagine him beeing more “free” with his hours being a famous millionaire and all, than average Joe graphic designer, but still. I envied the scene he painted for me.

Now that I have had a few tough assignments with deadlines to be met, my envy has lessend, and turned to admiration. I was late with one of those assignments this week, and it killed me. The reason was both having sick kids needing my attention, and a busy “mum schedule” in general, but also lack of imagination and creativity – just because I HAD TO BE just that; imaginative and creative. So, although I would like to have creativity as my profession, I’m not sure I would have what it takes!!

The Scrappin’ Patch retreat was two half days and one whole day, and two whole night as well of course. I was NOT inspired during that whole time, inspite of having endless amount of inspiration in the same room, and having NOONE to care for, apart from my self. Possibly because that particular assignment was supposed to be finished, and wasn’t. It was home on my desk, screaming for my attention.

NOW, when that assignment is finished, and couried away, my mojo hit me like a heatwave. I’ve been creating with no problem at all since that box was sent off on Saturday. I have created more in three days, looking after kids and doing all that stuff that a mother and wife does, than I did during my weekend away. Funny that…

OK. That was a big ramble, sorry about that. Time to share I think!

Pink Paislee class LO

Helloooo – have you had a good Easter so far? Mine has been very family and chocolate orientated. Great in other words…

Just thought I’d share with you the LO I made for my class at the Scrappin’ Patch retreat, using Pink Paislee products, Bazzill cardstock and also a Prima bling swirl. It was a lot of fun, teaching all those crazy  lovely ladies, and it was fantastic to see all the different versions of my original LO!

Can also share a LO that I completed at the retreat, for todays scraplift challenge at the SWE Scrapbook blog. More like a CASE for me really…

Products used: Bazzill cs, Magistical Memories ”Tab Trio Square” which I have painted with Tim Holtz green crackle paint, Prima flowers & blue alphas, Jenni Bowlin ticket & bingo card, MM Vintage Findings, BG buttons and brads, Heidi Grace pin, 7Gypsies paperclip, MME journaling spot, Martha Stewtart butterfly punch, October Afternoon mini alphas, misc tags, and also used a sewing machine!

Loved doing this LO, it’s sooooo random!!

Another random thing is this greeeeeen egg carton I made together with Tova, as a present for her pre-school teachers. Need I say that they loved it??
