Busy weekend

We really had NOTHING planned for this weekend, but we ended up being very busy! The best part was going to one of the many local beaches, just enjoying the sun and each others company this afternoon.

 

Haven’t done much scrapping, but still have a few things to share.

 

First, I’d like to share a mini-album I made for my mum. Today is mother’s day in Sweden, and I made her a little album about Elsa. She has a couple with Tova already. I painted the album from Magistical Memories with white acrylic paint, and I have used scrap papers, ribbon from MM & American Craft, flowers and bling from Kaisercraft, Pink Paislee chipboard, misc buttons, and alphas from BG & Carolee’s Creations. AND – I have used my Zutter! It’s not the absolute first time since I got it in January, but almost…

I really LOOOOOOOVE this colour combo at the moment, and am quite pleased with this album!!

 

Then, I’d like to show you two LO’s I made for Scrappin’ Patch. They sent me one piece of 7Gypsies flocked paper, and wanted me to create two “things” with it. (These papers are on sale in the shop at the moment. Just gooooorgeous!!) The paper was lying on my desk for about a week before I came up with something, but when I did – it went very fast! Both LO’s are quite simple, but I really wanted to show off the paper.

 

 

Other products used on this LO: Bazill black CS, BG alphas, flowers from Spotlight sprayed with Glimmermist colour “Starfish”, and a white journaling pen.

Now, a LO that I’ve actually done THIS busy weekend. I started late last night, and almost finished it. But, I decided to spray some glimmermist on things, so had to wait ’til today to finish it. It’s for this months sketch over at Up2Scrap (deadline is tonight!!). I just adore this photo of Elsa, and can see myself scrapping it many times…

 

 

The die-cut pp and the two small journaling spots are from Collage Press, other patterned pp’s are Kaisercraft, and I’ve also used a piece of sheet music. The ribbon is 7Gypsies (thanks Up2Scrap!!), chipboard from MME & BG, swirl from Prima, other pearls from Kaisercraft, the butterfly is a die-cut from Amy Butler, and the Alphas from BG are sprayed with Glimmermist, colours “Starfish” & “Creme de Chocolat”.

And now, back to the desk to try and finish a few things that are supposed to be done before end of June 1st… See ya!

It has begun…

The challenges that is, over at the Scrappin’ Patch forum! MY challenge is to create a LO in the colours of the British/English flag, i.e. red/white/dark blue. It’s not easy I discovered, but here’s my example. Tova in her “spiderman house”.

 

Have used Bazill dotted swiss, BG patterned pp, brads & rub-on, the grungeboard details have first been painted red, then sprayed with brown and red glimmermist. The alphas are MM & American craft, and there’s also Kaisercraft pearls on there.

 

Apart from the awesome Queen’s birthday challenges, there’s also a “Man Friday challenge” up. This is my LO for that:

 

Have used Prima, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket and Fancy Pants patterned pp, BG Lime Rickey buttons, BG Marrakesh alphas, Rose Moka mini alphas, Inkadinkado alpha stamps, and some Pearlmaker.

Queen’s birthday fun

On Monday we are celebrating the English Queen’s birthday here in NZ (just some info for you non NZ’s out there reading my blog). It’s even a holiday here, people stay home from work to “celebrate”.

 

 

Anyway, at Scrappin’ Patch forum we are doing some fun stuff from tomorrow Friday to honour Her Majesty, so pop in for a bit of challenges and inspiration!!!

 

And, there’s a new lift up at Liftvarning, and I really LOVED the LO we lifted this week. I also LOVE how my LO came out. Can you spot a little bit of Lime Rickey in there? Yum!! My title says “proud”.

 

 

We have a very nice and sunny day here today, so I better feed the monkeys so we can get out there! Have a great Thursday everyone!!!

I’d like to share…

…some LO’s with you!

 

 

First out, two LO’s that I created with Rose Moka products that the nice ladies at Scrappin’ Patch sent me with my kit. I ended up doing two pages for my VERY neglected Sweden album, so very happy about that! The first LO is about Tova playing with tractors, and the fact that she should maybe have been born a boy… The second one says “cousin”, and I think you can guess that the man on the photo is just that. My cousin.

 

 

 

 

 

While we’re on the Swedish album, I also made a LO for last weeks scraplift over at Liftvarning in that format. It was a tough LO to lift in my opinion, but here it is!  This is Tova’s and Elsa’s cousin.

 

 

By the way, it would be cool to see some NZ entries on that blog…

While we’re on the subject of scraplifting, here’s a LO I scraplifted from Nic Howard. Loooooooove the new Basic Grey Lime Rickey that arrived from Scrappin’ Patch the other day!!! Love it love it love it!!!

Instead of being creative…

… I have spent the last two hours turning my house upside down to find our marriage certificate. No luck. I need it for my meeting at the Swedish consulate tomorrow, but no. Can’t find it. REALLY frustrating! I’d rather be scrapping as you all know!!

 

 

And now it’s almost 10pm, so I feel there’s is no point starting pushing papers around. But, how about a blog post?!?!

 

Here’s some stuff I’d like to share.

 

 

First, a LO for the new weekly challenge over at the Sketchbook. I’ve set this challenge, and it’s a WORD challenge. The word I chose was SAFE. You HAVE to go check the other contributor’s LO’s, they ROCK! Anyway, this is mine. A little bit of Jenni Bowlin going on here…

 

 

 

And then my LO for the first challenge in the Crafty Tart competition. I had a lot of fun doing this…

And last, a LO for a new Multi Photo challenge that Delys has posted on the Scrappin’ Patch forum. I have a WHOLE HEAP of photos that are not “scrapping friendly”, birthday and Cristmas photos mostly, but I still WANT to scrap them because of the story or the actual event. These multi photo LO’s are great for that and I’m pleased with the result. I put the photos together in a collage in Picasa, and then printed them and cut them out. A simple page, but it tells the story!

 

 

 

OK. I’m gonna do ONE more round for that certificate before I go to bed. Se ya!

 

In a (s)crappy mood

It’s been raining lately. Pretty much every day. Kind of depressing! But that’s NZ winter for ya… So. I’ve been feeling a bit blue. What makes me feel better?? SCRAPPING!!!

 

 

I have some stuff to share, so here we go:

 

More DT work for Scrappin’ Patch first. I got three papers from Melissa Frances, and together with some glimmermist, some Prima products, and other bits and pieces, this is the result. One LO and two cards:

 

 

 

 

 

This LO is an example for Ruth’s new challenge over at the Sketchbook. It’s REALLY simple, but I like it!!:

 

 

The next LO is not as simple. I had real trouble finishing it actually… It’s for my shabby chic challenge at Scrappin’ Patch. The theme is mother’s day. Here’s the LO, and some detail shots, the hidden journaling for example!

 

 

 

 

 

And, it’s Wednesday, so a new LO to lift is up @ Liftvarning. This is my take. I was very happy to see this particular shape on this weeks LO… The title says “tired girl”.

 

 

 

 

The head honcho @ Liftvarning, Kate, has some challenges running on her own blog, celebrating that she’s been scrapping for two years now in May. I’ve managed to do two challenges so far. The first LO is for a sketch, the title says “the dummie”. The second one is for a colour challenge, and the title says “beach monkey”.

New lift…

Haven’t got anything else to share, but that doesn’t mean I’m not busy scrapping!!! Are preparing challenges for Scrappin’ Patch and The Sketchbook, and are working with my DT stuff for Scrappin’ Patch.

 

In ohter news – I was the lucky winner of the April sketch challenge with my LO “mezmerised” on Up2Scrap’s blog. Yay me! I won a FANTSTIC mini album and a set of GORGEOUS ribbons from 7Gypsies. Am using the ribbon on the LO I’m working on at the moment, ’cause my prize arrived yesterday. How quick was that?!?!

 

Speaking of  Up2Scrap. If you got the new mag, you can see a LO from me on page 51. Very cool. It’s only my second time being published, so it’s very exciting for me!

 

Right. Better go makes sure Tova is eating her weet bix herself, and not feeding it to her baby sister… Will be back with a new post later in the week, when I can share some more creations!!
