A quickie

My mum and sister have finally arrived!!! They are very jetlagged though, and went to bed (looking like zombies) around 8pm. Oh how I don’t miss that feeling…

 

OK. The main reason I’m writing this post is that I want a chance to win some blog candy from a Swedish stamp & scrapbooking material manufacturer – Inkido. Love their stuff. I don’t know about you, but I’m very happy about all the cyber friends I’ve got. All through the beautiful hobby scrapbooking.  If you need to “talk”, if you need advice, there’s always someone “there”. Well, believe it or not, I actually have some LO’s to share as well. I’ve been continuing with my speed scrapping, and got a couple of simple LO’s done. Here we go:

This first LO is about how Tova is like her daddy’s shadow. Whatever he does, she want to help. Very cute. Hence, the title “daddy’s little helper”

 

The next LO is about Tova’s beloved bedtime teddy - ”the dog”. Unfortunately it got lost on our last day in Sweden, and she hasn’t accepted any other teddy to be her special friend after that. Speed scrapping

Yep. That’s my new thing!

 

 

When looking through my pile of photos that I want to scrap, I almost fainted. There are so MANY!!! And with a new baby in the house, I’m gonna be overwhelmed! So. I’ve done some quick LO’s the last few days. It’s all about preserving the memory – right? And it’s also about me getting my creative juices flowing, enjoying what I do, yes? Well, that’s just what it has been. I’ve put the memory into a LO, and I’ve been loving every second of it. I’m guessing the fact that I get some time to myself in this crazy world I’ve created for myself is a big factor in my enjoyment too…

 

I can’t show you all of what I’ve done, but here’s a couple!

 

 

 

 

 

Back online – for a moment…

Well, it’s certainly different being a mother of two than of one. But I guess that is no surprise to anyone…

 

 

Me and our new little miracle, babygirl Elsa, came home on Saturday afternoon, and we have been trying to settle in at home since. She is fantastic, eating and sleeping is all that she does at the moment, but it’s still a lot to take in for me. I feel quite relaxed though, taking one hour at a time. Luckily, my DH has not started work yet, so he can help with Tova and everything else. And then there is only 10 days ’til my mum and sister comes for a visit. YAY!!

 

We aslo found out today that our DREAM HOME that we have been hoping to buy is ours!!!! So we will be moving in a few weeks time. Not that we are busy with other stuff or anything…  It’s a great year 2009, so far!

 

Anyway, here’s a pic of our lovely Elsa:

 

 

 

Scrapbooking? Have I done any? Actually, yes… Trying to anyway. The first LO i have to show is actually my first LO of the year, I finished it the night before I went in to hospital. It’s about how Tova loves to be pushed outside the house in a wheel barrow… This LO will most probably be available as a class at Scrapbooker’s Delight  later this year.

 

 

And then I’ve been trying to get into it since I got back. Have mostly been shuffling papers around really… I have finished on LO though. One of my best friends here in NZ inspired me… She has been visiting me and Elsa at the hospital EVERY day, and have just been so supportive and helpful. She has always been an amazing friend, and fantastic with  Tova, an extra aunt really. Since I have no family here, she’s just invaluable (is that a word??). A photo of her and Tova has been on top of my pile of photos to scrap for a long time, and the events this last few days gave me the inspiration to do something about it. It’s not a fantastic page, but that’s not always what it’s about – right? This page is DEFINITELY about something else but perfection…

 

 

On this LO I have used a  few of my favourite things at the moment… Dotted CS from Bazill, MM mini alpha’s, Fiskar’s threading water punch, kindy glitz, Eva creative bling swirl, liquid pearls and charms. Most of these products can be found in the Scrappin’ Patch shop!

 

Oh. One more thing before I go! I made you all guess the sex of our new baby, and I had five guesses for a girl:

I normally don’t share much private happenings on this blog as I have a private one, but I thought I’d share with you what was going on two years ago on this day…

 

First day of the year is here…

…and with that the first challenge of the year over at Scrap the Girls!!! It’s a yummy photo to be inspired by this time, and some FANTASTIC prizes to be won. Go check it out, and be inspired by the other CT members’ amazing creations. This is mine – a birthday LO don’t you know!!!

 

 

During the last days of  last year I managed to get a couple of simple pages for my Sweden album done. This time I’ve snowed in on the colour combo brown/green/beige. I’m in loooooooooove with the fabulous mini alpha stickers from Carolee’s Creations, that you can find @ Scrappin’ Patch. As you can see, I used them on the LO above as well…

 

The first LO below says “hug”. Tova hugged my dad so many times every day when we were over there, so cute! This is the ONLY photo I have of it happening though, and I’m glad I caught it on camera! The other LO says “everybody’s on the swing”. A day on the playground with my sisters, and Tova’s cousins. Even Tova – who hates the swings – got on, and was happy about it! A great day!

 

 

 

I’m so glad I decided to do this album in 8.5 x 11″. It makes me do the pages simpler, and since I have so many photos from the trip I wanna scrap – I save time!! I seem to use more scraps as well, and that HAS to be a good thing!!

 

Right. Four more sleeps ’til baby day, let’s see if I get some scrapping done before then… I’ve developed all photos I want to scrap up until today so I’m set when it comes to that. The HOT HOT sun and the fact that my mind is occupied with what’s going on isn’t helping, but maybe… Maybe there will be some stuff done!
